    When can i leave Ul'dah?!

Hey All, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me when doleave my starting area? i've only lvl'd my highest job to 22, but i remember in FFXI at least at lvl 10 i made, what seemed at the time, the long walk to the dunes, but now im just going to the next camp down the road -.-

is there any quests or incentive that require me to travel or explore?

Wellcome to FFXIV !, where you can do 1-50 doing the same 5-6 leves every day! And most ppl like the ones in Uldah.. so probably you'll stay there for much time more.. Or you can try to do other leves in other zones (in limsa there are some good one btw)..

XIV is in it's vanilla phase and people just stick around Ul`Dah generally. There are more areas but honestly, they're around the 40s.

This is (sadly) the thruth.. People want to do the best leves for exp.. So everyone do them in Uldah. (+2,3 in limsa btw) .. So hardly you'll move from there to go for example in gridania.. Unless you have a group of friends that want explore more zones for fun, and maybe grinding, without caring about the less exp you'll get.. (sorry for my english btw)

i started in limsa. left for uldah very early in the game and have been there ever since. i do leave once every leve reset to go to limsa to do verdure and inferno. there's a few things that you have to do in other places, but not alot.

This is one of the areas where FF XIV differs to other MMOs instead of constantly moving you forward to new zones it just moves you to new camps in the same Zone. You can get to rank 50 witout ever leaving the zone.

I travel to all three cities to do leves (battle/gathering) and crafting. I've found nice leves that give as good SP that Ul'dah's do and the cities are less crowded because everyone wants to stay in Ul'dah. It's also nicer to fight/farm in the other two cities for the same reason.

You can leave anytime you like and explore, find new camps, new leves, new things to do... just gotta do it.

For me, I'm glad I started elsewhere, because now when I need to visit my home city, I'm quite happy to make the trip. Even if I do spend most of my time in Ul'dah. Adventure out, its fun that way. There is lots to explore, take the time and do it.
There's 5 main areas to check out. La Noscea, Black Shroud, and Thanalan include the 3 main cities. Each area contains content for ranks 1-50 and beyond.

Exploring other areas is a great way to see what else is out there in game aside from the norm. It breaks the monotony of hanging out in one area and you get to check out some beautiful sights as well. Avoiding Rainbow Basilisks along with Riphead Ogres is exciting as you make your way to an aetherial node. Getting out there and exploring is fun.
