Extremely extensive and drawn out interview... for a part of the game most of the few remaining players have no interest in. [Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.]

Thanks for the info, Sadly the children of this forum are NEVER happy....
Hmmm, considering the fan negativity regarding the perception that "we'll look into it" is a non-answer, I would suggest the following:
For the next Q&A, just let the devs pick and choose 4-5 questions themselves that they think are good questions. Questions that they know they can give a good answer to, accompanied with lots of details and discussion in how the devs approach their design decisions.
Right now, we have a large quantity of dev feedback, but arguably low quality.
I think the fanbase would be happier if you instead had a low quantity of dev feedback, but that each answer is long and substantial.
I hate the elemental abilities question, even all the answers were bs, the fact that the elements effect what shards you gather is available in many resources, I believe even on the lodestone :/

Even after reading the 2nd part of the Q&A I can't help but feel the devs are thinking of the gathering classes as afterthoughts. I mean all they really seem to be concerned with is tweaking and balancing and more then that is because of the impact on crafting and economy. The fact that they are not really considering ways to make gathering a more important aspect of the game is sad as they original said the gathering classes would be just as important as the rest of the classes and that was something I was looking forward to as every other MMO has gathering as just a afterthought.
In all honest alot of the stuff should not be we will look into it or we will take it into consideration. Stuff like adding mining nodes in MINES should be "We are doing that" doesn't matter when but it's not something to consider it's common sense and should be answered as such and many of the questions work out this way. Fact is a good chunk of what was asked will end up in the game and the devs know it but they answer it in such a way that annoys everyone including myself.
Don't make me angry or I shall cut down all the trees and laugh as you can't breath!!!
New drinking game: take a shot every time devs say "we look into it"
Can you make the fishing system more like that in FFXI? Or at least make the system play differently?
Notice how only 4 people like your post? That's because NO ONE CARES about gathering. In fact, maybe you should stop posting these lame Q&A's that all boil down to "we'll look into it".We'll take it into consideration.
We'll take it into consideration.
This is part of the visual effects.
We're thinking of a specific design for gatherers' ability to avoid monsters.
We'll look into it.
We are planning on making adjustments to items obtained from monster drops and gathering along with the fix to crafting recipes.
It will be easier to catch fish, but there will be no affect on the Approach phase.
We are looking into it.
We'll take it into consideration.
We'll take it into consideration.
This was done to avoid any confusion that may occur when gathering locations of different grades are present in the same area.
What is this company thinking?... I thought they were getting back on track ever since we were blessed with 1.17b.
Thank you so, so, so much Square-Enix.
To be fair to SE, didn't they try that already with Letters From The Producer and the Akihiko Matsui Battle Blueprint?? They have lots of substance, but are only presented every 3 weeks or so.
