Square Enix really knows how to starve their fan-base/players of information. At this point of the games failure, it does worse to stay so secretive than actually releasing concrete information. Is it really that much of a far cry to ACTUALLY be told what the Dev's are thinking about vs. vague/useless answers at hand picked questions.

I believe the different type of answers we see, at least on this first part of the international Q&A, has to do a lot with how the question were made. On the previous post for our Q&A, I indicated the it was not working and preferred something else. it seems the real problem was in how we formulate our questions in the first place that didnt leave much room for the dev team to answer properly.
This one is way better. Thank you Dev. team and Community reps

Interesting stuff. Doesn't seem like we'll get a lot of love, us gatherers, but I guess if they give me more fish to catch I'll be happy. Fishing is currently the only thing I really enjoy in game.

Q. Please let us know the current direction of gathering classes.
A. Along with crafters, we are defining it as a class that supports the battle classes.
Well there we have it gatherers Are supports of Dow/DoM Classes, which from a normal viewing point it comes down to that. Unless change happens ( and personally I hope it will) we are defined as a class that supports another class but can that really be called a main class anymore? no not really.
--[The Title probably needs to be changed at some time later, from: (old) Gathering Classes to (new) Gathering Supporters (or something).]--

"It's The Journey that is important, The Destination is Not that important."

Unless we can gather/craft things that have nothing to do with battle, ever, calling us support for battle classes isn't really inaccurate or cause for revolt. Everything in the game pretty much circles around to making an adventurer somewhere better prepared for: Battle.Well there we have it gatherers Are supports of Dow/DoM Classes, which from a normal viewing point it comes down to that. Unless change happens ( and personally I hope it will) we are defined as a class that supports another class but can that really be called a main class anymore? no not really.

Is it just me or is every single one of those posts either "We have no plans for this.", "We will consider this." or "We are looking into this."
We haven't had any big news on Patch 1.18 for like two weeks plus now Square, how about you tell us what you are actually doing and not what you're considering?
That was 5 days before the Q&A answers came out, though. It's possible something changed in that time. Or I could be grasping at straws
I'd like to think the Q&A answers are more up-to-date, though, and that they are actually gonna change it. We'll have to see, I guess. . .

I would have liked to ask the development team if they had any thoughts on adding leves or quests that require not only combat classes but gatherers to successfully complete the objective. Protect the gatherer from waves of enemies as he/she collects some items from a node, or some such thing.
I believe it was asked quite a few times, actually. This answer seems to fit the bill:I would have liked to ask the development team if they had any thoughts on adding leves or quests that require not only combat classes but gatherers to successfully complete the objective. Protect the gatherer from waves of enemies as he/she collects some items from a node, or some such thing.
Will you implement hybrid guildleves and quests that require a mix of Disciples of Land/Hand/War/Magic?We'll take it into consideration.
