although this was 'mining' not in general 'gathering', it was still pretty specific. The higher the character’s Mind, the more items are gained.
edit: adol beat me ; ; ( i is to slow)
It is difficult to stay positive when questions are given cookie cutter responses that show they did not actually read the question.
Example-
"Are there factors such as Moon Phases, Time of Day, and Weather Conditions that affect the Drops Rates and Quality of items obtained through gathering?"
Similar suggestions have been brought up, but nothing specific has been decided.
The answer is a simple yes (+ what mechanics are a factor) or a no.

See the problem is not to make it more real by means of using better creation methods, if I remember correctly, the original poster of that question referred to how "the animations were obviously sped up to make gathering faster" so they seemed "unreal" because of it. It's not implying that the creation method was bad. Will the gathering animations ever be reworked or redone through motion capture to improve the realism and fluidity of the animation? The animations are already made using motion capture...![]()
Haha, that answer sounds very "Idunno lol, I THINK it works like this. Maaaaybe."When I hit a sweet spot I still get random items, why is this?We believe this may be because certain requirements (such as not being the proper rank) have not been met.
HOLY CRAP, I can't believe they answered something like this that clearly. More like this! What does Mind do for mining? The higher the character’s Mind, the more items are gained.
Wait-- wat. This was kind of a "Y/N" question... A mistranslation maybe? Are there factors such as Moon Phases, Time of Day, and Weather Conditions that affect the Drops Rates and Quality of items obtained through gathering?Similar suggestions have been brought up, but nothing specific has been decided.
Nothing about the pouches for gathering classes, then?
Well, it seemed pretty underwhelming, but I'm glad I had something to read I suppose.
Honestly, not to be a jerk here, but in hindsight, we should try to make polls for stuff that's on "the top of the list". Considering gathering classes are not anywhere near the priority list, it's to be expected that all will be "Your concern is backburner fuel right now" answers.
There were many answers that sounded like "Yes", and that's good and motivating, the problem is that even those sound vague, and since SE has a long history of "soon" meaning "more time than mortal beings are capable of waiting", I don't even know if I should get excited or just move along and wait for them to pop when my future generations can enjoy it.
I wonder if the rest of the Q&A bring a spring to my step.
Thanks for delivery Bayohne, have those guys drink some of whatever keeps so active, will ya?Similar thoughts have been brought up by developers.

I feel as though nothing got answered and as though they didn't really read a few of the questions as the response to them didn't even fit the question.
Honestly instead of having the players ask questions and get no as the majority of the answers why don't the devs just tell us what THEY have planned and what THEY are discussing and tossing around amongst themselves and see how we feel about it. No sense in asking us to ask questions when they are either gonna get a no answer or not answered accurately.
The only thing I really took away from this is that Gathering classes are no longer equal to other classes and are now basically an after thought as they basically said we won't get our own content like story missions or side quests or what have you.
Don't make me angry or I shall cut down all the trees and laugh as you can't breath!!!
See, this makes freakin' perfect sense. The only reason I can imagine they wouldn't want to just make "blogs" where the team posts what they've been considering and openly tell us what they've taken and dropped is to not get us hyped on something they are considering that ends up dropped, causing a fanboy-revolt. However, they cause the exact same effect whenever they give super-vague answers, which they've been doing forever (can't really say it's new here). So might as well.Honestly instead of having the players ask questions and get no as the majority of the answers why don't the devs just tell us what THEY have planned and what THEY are discussing and tossing around amongst themselves and see how we feel about it. What, are they afraid we'd catch on their trend when making decisions for content?
Well, I disagree that they didn't provide any answers. But I can think of a couple of reasons that players should prefer Q&As over blog entries.Honestly instead of having the players ask questions and get no as the majority of the answers why don't the devs just tell us what THEY have planned and what THEY are discussing and tossing around amongst themselves and see how we feel about it. First, it's a good way for SE to gauge player interest in certain issues. SE isn't a company of mind-readers. This is a good way for players to let SE know how we feel about certain issues, and what's important enough to fix first.
Second, blog posts/letters tend to focus on what they've definitely got planned, and ignore everything else. That's just good PR. Here, we got plenty of "We're not planning to do that" and "We're thinking about that, but not sure" responses. So we get responses on a wider variety of topics than you'd get from a blog post/letter.
Third, we got answers to our questions. This isn't SE telling us only what they want us to know. This is SE telling us what we want to know.
I~ don't think that's the general feeling around here, that's exactly the issue here.
Eh, personally it's not that I am mad, or disappointed... But I certainly aren't fist-pumping. Wish I could get that feeling again for once. Eh, oh well~.

I agree! ^^ They answered what ppl asked. More specific questions had more specific answers...generic questions got generic answers.Well, I disagree that they didn't provide any answers. But I can think of a couple of reasons that players should prefer Q&As over blog entries.

I didn't like the answers at all because it seems the way the current dev team see DoL/H is different from the original vision of Tanaka team, giving them much less importance than the battle-related classes, but i support the will from dev team and the community reps in making these Q&A!
Would be nice we even have this kind of topic as sticky at each sub-forum...this way people can leave their questions there and from time to time reps generate a Q&A and remove all posts prior to that Q&A so all questions there are up to date. ^^
