I wasnt planing on playing one to start with.
But during beta i realised no matter how much i played with the other races I just couldn't get one i liked that didn't look like a ganger of the guy next to me.
It bothered me a lot less having a Miqo'te that look similar to others then anything else.

Really I feel that when we get close to paying for FFXIV and they re-release it (pre Ps3/same time) more variation and models/hairs/features/tats/markings ext should be added (along with missing genders if possible) and everyone get a free redo of our character.

Actually I could forgo playing the missing genders as long as they were visible in game as npcs.

Nah, I don't see anything odd about them having different tail lenghts.
But more hair colors for both (and all races) would be nice and maybe some more skin colors too.
I got two cats and their tails are different lenght even though they are sisters. XD

Yea, the pastel for the keeper of the moon is so pale a little more color.. just a teeeeny tiny bit more color^^
