Just lie. Watch a video so you know the strategy and don't mention that it's your first time, if they ask you if you're experienced, say yes. Unfortunately it's a catch 22, groups won't let you join because you aren't experienced but you can't get experience unless you join a group. I lied about having exp for T1 and just watched a video... I ended up playing better than some of the "experienced" people in the party. Unfortunately this game is full of elitist idiots who will go crazy everytime something goes wrong, will be blame anyone but themselves when they mess up and aren't willing to help people learn.
Alternatively, set up a group and shout in Mor Dhona for a practice group, you'd be surprised how many people will join because they are in the same situation. I joined one of these groups for T2 and it was great, nobody shouting and complaining, and people who were experienced were helping people learn the strategies. We may not have won but the newcomers got some "exp"
Like others have said, having experience is a big plus and will get you into more parties, but also if you were saying that you had Full DL on monk that could be contributing to some of the problem, as the full darklight set together on monk is rather underwhelming, and many know this, so when they hear/see full DL on monk they often will turn them down in my experience.
This makes no sense.Like others have said, having experience is a big plus and will get you into more parties, but also if you were saying that you had Full DL on monk that could be contributing to some of the problem, as the full darklight set together on monk is rather underwhelming, and many know this, so when they hear/see full DL on monk they often will turn them down in my experience.
So...in order to be accepted into a raid that offers gear better than Darklight (his current set) he needs to have gear better than Darklight?
gear is a big part of this game but i really saw players walking thru aoes and attacks because they have a DL gear or higher where others do great work dodging them and memorizing the bosses rotations
skills matter and you will be a bad headache if you were not skilled (not knowing how to use the best of your class) even if you had +90 gear .
for coli you sure need better gear but not necessary experienced ,you just have to know about the dungeon by reading or watching video .
most of people i met here (not all) are not willing to help or just lazy to do so , i wish SE make the DF option for coli it would be essayer to get a group instead of wasting time shouting for a group that may not accept you b/c its your 1st time .
my friend used to say that after he got tired of it and now he have his own coli group and they do pretty good job ,
its sad but true .
WELCOME TO NA SERVER
Find a FC or LS that does Coil and get into a static group.
Don't lie about experience. People can check your achievements and see you haven't gotten the wins.
As some has said before me, do your homework! Watch videos, read forums, then you aren't really "new" or "unexperienced", you have some basic knowledge of the fights. I do this and then don't tell people I'm new, with half a brain you will do fine.
On a similar note, last nihgt someone in my FC said something like: "Gaa Im in such a fail group. Running this place for the first time and getting no instructions." That is akin to being carried in my opinion. Never expect someone to explain stuff to you, empower yourself with knowledge!
I have done fights for the first time where I'm the one explaining it to others, just because I come prepared.
exactly , others already helping you by adding you to their party so atleast know how the fights work to help them in-return .As some has said before me, do your homework!
