The video description stated the game's events are "set some time after Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings", and mentioned Square Enix's subsidiary Eidos Montreal as a possible new home for the project. Replying to a fan question in May 2010, David Hoffman, director of business development at the American branch of Square Enix, mentioned Fortress without confirming its existence, stating "I have and had no involvement in the rumored project Fortress".

O.o playing on a small screen how would you type? i guess they can be a addon for a keyboard but still playing a full on MMO on a psp would feel weird i guess when they do come out with a psp game i try and see how it feel lol

Man, i wonder who is doing the artwork for that game, and what game engine it will be using. I'd hate to hear that project being scraped. ;-;

Actually, Phantasy Star Universe Portable 2 wasn't so hard to play, and it was a hybrid MMO. There were quick-commands that also worked as auto-translate, telling people what to focus on healing, attacking, buffs. etc.

It's kind of odd timing, given they just cancelled a lot of games and the recent track record with new franchises makes me curious just what this is. I'd almost bet it's a familiar franchise. I would love to see an FFXI-2 honestly, although I heavily doubt that's it. Like someone else said, Ivalice is probably a likely target given that it's already a pretty fleshed out universe and has a lot of MMO-ish races and conventions as is.

Then again, the main art director for any Ivalice game has always been Akihiko Yoshida, who is working on FFXIV currently.
