This is actually a great way to prove my point about how it isn't about the animation when avoiding aoes. Let me give you an example using a warriors skill called Butcher's Block. With this move, the character swings his axe 3 different times and the animation is actually kind of long. However, you don't have to actually be by the enemy to have it hit when the animation is complete. You can actually hit the button and when your guy starts the animation, run away from the target and be like 5 feet away, not even facing the target, but you will still hit the enemy because when you started the move you were in range, facing the target. It is the same with aoes in this game. Think of it like when the indicator goes away, it's as if the enemy "hit the button" to start the move. If you were there when the enemy hit the button, but gone by the time the animation stops, it doesn't matter because you were in range when the button was pressed.

I think everyone and their mother knows you're dodging red circles and not animations.. so I'm really not sure what you're trying to argue here. Skills themselves are out of sync. Also, that whole running away from the target thing doesn't always work. I've had Rage of Halone (an instant attack) interrupt because I moved away from my target around the second slash in the animation. Cause.. yanno.. instant attacks are totally interupt-able with their cast time and everything..
