I'm still going to advise you to try and play at (slightly) lower settings.
My dodging issues were also mostly in group fights and in crowded areas like popular Fate zones and lowering my settings upped my dodging rate from "crap, I dodged that" to "crap, brainfart!".

If you are lowering your computer settings and it's working, the problem isn't with SE.
Indeed, but then again I am not one of the people that is desperately seeking a scapegoat for any game issues before making sure that I have completely taken away any local influences.
I see everyone raging on about network and internet influences and pointing the finger at SE, but a lot of people seem to forget that the problem can also be one of a local nature.

How does forcing the server to check my position a hardware problem?
I am not using it as a scape goat because I just laid out how I avoid the AE. I think you have trouble understanding the point. The point is not a lag issue. The point is that I have to trick the game to be able to avoid a game mechanic. If you can not see how that is a problem maybe you need to get your local hardware checked.Indeed, but then again I am not one of the people that is desperately seeking a scapegoat for any game issues before making sure that I have completely taken away any local influences.

As I've lowered my settings I have actively resolved my "lag" issues suddenly I am magically able to avoid AoE's by simply sidestepping them where I was being hit by them while being 5 or more steps away from them before.
I'm not going into anything technical because to put it simple I don't know how, but for me lowering my settings worked.
I'll simply leave this:
My GPU's performance under certain settings of the game.
The 98% on maximum was a constant factor and whatever I did the value didn't change.
The High (Laptop) settings' value moved between 75 and 95% depending on activity on screen.
