Because nothing was proven except ignorance to the issue?
It's not lag. If it was, an instant cast spell to force the server to re-check your position would be ineffective.
The problem is the code. SWTOR had this same issue, they fixed it soon after release. FFXIV devs have acknowledged the issue but have said nothing about it since release.
Are you people seriously this willingly blind?

They really are. A lot of the defender crowd seem to be incapable of separating lag from the issue itself because lag makes the issue worse. There's also a handful of the "I don't get it therefore it's entirely on your end."
SWTOR is the closest to the issue indeed. They had much lag for abilities and they fixed it pretty fast. Even SWTOR didn't have players getting hit by AOEs they were out of though. Guess SE gets points for being unique or something.
That's true but there's also those who are so bad they can't dodge the aoe or for some reason just don't bother and it's alot easier to blame this issue instead of themselves.
That's the thing though, without the issue being fixed you just don't know. Right now, in order to see virtually no issues (because Yoshi said there's still a .1 second delay), you have to have the optimal setup. Anything less then an optimal connection and you start to see lag/get hit by things you were out of. So it's entirely possible for someone who has no issues playing other games to have the exact same latency in other games but see an issue here. A 500 ms latency in another game won't give you any noticeable issues, but here it makes it so you get hit by AOEs if you're not out by a certain point in the cast bar. No difference in latency between the games, but this game handles it much worse.
Players should not have to account for that. If I can play literally any other MMO with 500 ms latency (and I'm not saying that's what I have, it's just an example), and dodge AOEs just fine, then I should be able to play this one at 500 ms latency and expect the same. Could the player get a VPN and improve that latency, and get into that .1 second thing Yoshi talked about? Sure.. but they shouldn't have to. Nor should they have to fight with ISPs to get a more direct route that doesn't get bogged down to the data center or anything like that.
I've stated in other threads I believe that the majority of the player base is effected. Why? Because the entire strat for Titan is to move before he casts skills. If you rely on ground indicators to appear before you move, the majority of people seem to get hit. I would also say a majority of people don't read the forums, don't know about the issue, and therefore don't know to pre-move. So then you get people yelling at others and calling them bad when in all reality, they were out on their screen.
While it is true that some people will always blame lag when it's not lag, many people are throwing that up as an excuse to pretend there isn't an issue at all. If the issue is fixed, suddenly lag is out of the question (except in severe cases, which are going to be few and far between, unlike what we have now) and all you're left with is player skill.
