OP is correct. When people don't understand something, they blame anything but themselves. And in this case, their decision of ISP is an extension of "themselves".

If you're being hit when you are clearly outside the AoE before the cast timer finishes, then that is most definitely your ISP. Unfortunately, many times you can't really do much to improve your ISP's connections because the routing is mostly on their end. For those with issues like this, I highly suggest getting a tunneling service to force a more direct route. They are fairly cheap at only a few dollars a month.

My Australian friend was having this issue, because as we know Australia is infamous for horridly bad ISPs and internet connections in general. He got the tunneling service and now avoids AoEs no problem. All he needed to do was improve his connection.

I may or may not agree with you on some points, but I have a 2 thousand dollar high end gaming PC and a high end gaming router. I play just fine 95% of the time. But there are those random times where I will just lag mercilessly for 2 hours. I check the internet provider and still have my 50 MB speed and I temporarily turn on a VPN manager to see if that is the issue. I even get physical on certain occasions and plug in my Ethernet cord. And to no avail the speed is just terrible in game. So excuse me for thinking that the problem could pooooossibly be on the other end. How dare I ever think my gear isn't the problem. *cough always checks my end before any other cough.* And this lag tends to happen any time before, during and around 5 pm. Since tons of people are getting on it could possibly be server lag. Also just because you don't experience a problem doesn't mean it is not there. So if I glitched through the floor and no one else did I should just keep my mouth shut or I am just a complainer? k. People will speak up when there is a problem. Their voice does not affect you so there is no reason to go out and attack those who are experiencing problems and actually have the guts to speak out in a community that is filled with the most cynical a-holes in the history of MMO gaming.

To be fair a lot of people don't actually start troubleshooting with their own gear. There are those (you and I included) that do, however, we get lumped in with the clueless clods that shouldn't be operating anything more complicated than a calculator

If 300ms (pos check delay) on top of your 20-200ms (depending on your location/isp) is not lag, then i do not know what is. Id guess my ping is around 400-500ms with this ridiculous netcode, and that stands for all of us european players. I certainly get hit ALOT when im already out of the ring. I need to be out of the AoE for just around 0.5 seconds before its cast or i will get hit... and that is certainly alot. But as ive said before, this game would be far too easy with no lag.

Im guessing the OP is american since hes not experiencing as much lag as alot of people are. Might just be a troll though. I mean, HOW on earth can you state that the problem is our ISP when theres an automatical extra 300ms on top of the real ping... have you experienced 300ms+ in any other game? Try playing an FPS game with that ping.
Well, gladly this game is playable with ridiculously high latency..

I have this issue intermittently. The problem is my network connection, as I'm playing on a US server from Japan. But is the problem REALLY my network? A large percentage of the population HAS these issues, so the real problem is that the game is not designed to compensate for a reasonable amount of latency. They either need to adjust the timing of AE to allow for people in a higher ping range to react reliably, or better yet, move dodge detection to client side. Hell, basic MOVEMENT detection must ALREADY be client side, considering how farming bots were blipping from sheep spawn to sheep spawn in coerthas, so existing implementation is worst of both worlds.

Oh, and before the inevitable YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS BY PLAYING FROM JAPAN ON A US SERVER!!! Firestorm commences, I'll just point out that I actually have this problem relatively infrequently. My 3 RL friends who are all playing from the USA in WA/OR have it during most of our play sessions.

So, I see a lot of people complaining about getting hit while outside of the red, and I just gotta say, there is something WRONG with your connection.

I know everyone complaining about it inexplicably has 5+ years in IT experience, but news flash, just because you can connect to the googles, and netflix, does not mean your internet is flawless.

There IS a delay, nobody is disputing that, but if you are out of the red when it finishes casting, you WON'T get hit. If you are, then you need to troubleshoot your connection, or get a better one.

If there are a few people who are experiencing it..then hey maybe its just them nerd raging after they go fail mode.

If there are hundreds or thousands of people who say hey..I am running out of this red circle and the shit is still hitting me...then that points to a potentially larger problem. At some point or another there is a latency issue and people are moving out of the circle on their screen..but their not according to the server. I am not going to pretend, like yourself, that because I have 5+ years experience working for an ISP that I have all the answers.

Maybe it just happens to be a problem with a specific ISP..but somehow I doubt that after all the complaints I have seen...specifically about some HM primal fights.

You need to work on your reading comprehension skills. Me saying "I know everyone complaining about it inexplicably has 5+ years in IT experience..." is an over exaggeration pointing out how most people complaining about this claim to be experts on their networks and the problem couldn't possibly be on their end.
