Right. If there's no way for you to claim an L2P issue then it's obviously the client side issue. It can never be an SE issue. That's the entire point of this thread. That gif, like mine, is in the overworld. That person has a connection issue.
I really have to wonder how you guys can look at gifs like this, and be like RAWR SEE TOLD YOU, and yet see the gifs at the start of this thread, and for some reason think it's voodoo magic or something.
That's the point of your thread, we get it. Keep on whiteknighting an obviously broken game, this will make it better for everyone.
It's not voodoo magic of course. The premise of your thread however puts the entire blame on a person's connection, a connection that let's the player function perfectly fine in other MMOs and FPS games. That's the entire point of this thread. Actually, the "point" is that this doesn't happen in any other MMO out there, to include games with far better graphics. This latency issue is the fault of a poorly made game. That's the entire point of this thread. That gif, like mine, is in the overworld. That person has a connection issue.

The truth is.... not everyone is suffering the 0.3 secs or so from the same source
I did indeed suffer the red ring of death on an older laptop running on minimum specs. Sitting side by side with 3 gaming PCs built earlier this year by my siblings, you could see the red ring of death on my laptop while they suffered nothing. After buying an up to date pc with some suggestions from the community members here I no longer suffer from the red ring of death. However, this may not be the same case for others but I would not be surprised if alot of the community members who are complaining about the red ring of death are running sub par specs.
Some have complained that, why should they have to buy a new computer for just one game. I'm not going to lie, future games will probably be even more demanding. If you don't upgrade now, you will eventually have to anyways cause games to come in the near future most likely will not be degrading but upgrading requirements.
Cheers.

This got them into hot water back in 1.0 when loads of people had to buy top of the line PCs just to play the game from the start. I shouldn't be forced to have to buy a new PC so I can play a game without having to worry about stepping out of stuff.
Yoshi also stated he didn't want people who have lower end PCs or bad connections to not to have to worry about that while playing the game and not being an action based game. Those types of games can be frustrating to play with a terrible connection. But unlike what he said this game is highly action based and punishes you dearly if you can not over come dodging. This game has put so much emphasis on "Dodging" abilities during endgame content, its borderline crazy.

I don't understand why people are so sanctimonious in denying an issue that even the developers acknowledged in the beta, albeit now silent about post release. Source: http://zantetsuken.net/news/yoshida-...latency-issues
So, I see a lot of people complaining about getting hit while outside of the red, and I just gotta say, there is something WRONG with your connection.
I know everyone complaining about it inexplicably has 5+ years in IT experience, but news flash, just because you can connect to the googles, and netflix, does not mean your internet is flawless.
There IS a delay, nobody is disputing that, but if you are out of the red when it finishes casting, you WON'T get hit. If you are, then you need to troubleshoot your connection, or get a better one.
If it is solely a problem with ISPs than why is instant casting to "force" an update when you are out of the indicator effective?

OP, no one cares about the overworld. People are complaining about the extremely unforgiving nature of primal HMs, especially Titan, where ONE missed bomb or ONE eaten plume is almost guaranteed to wipe the PT through the domino effect. (DPS goes down, healer raises DPS, DPS can't stay alive due to -15% HP debuff, DPS dies again and is guaranteed to not survive if raised again due to 30% debuff)

I had serious issues with the red rings not properly representing my escape from danger.
Then I removed my router from the equation, connected my modem straight to my PC.
A world of difference. Ease of dodging is significantly, even comically easier now.
TLDR: My router was on the verge of 'dying', and causing added latency. I removed it, latency disappeared.
Check your PC.
Check your Home Network.
Check your ISP.
Check with SE.
In that order. If you choose to skip a step, nobody will take you seriously.

The thing that kinda annoys me with all the replies similar to this one is that as usual, the technical details are never covered.
What does Check Your PC even mean? What settings? Why and how?
Or Check Your ISP... Check what? Just call them up and say "yeah I lag when I play FF14."?
As far as I am aware there is no thread that covers this. Instead, we have these kind of threads where a thread starter that claims to be very knowledgeable posts a picture of himself avoiding a level 8 monster.
