    My GPU's performance under certain settings of the game.
    The 98% on maximum was a constant factor and whatever I did the value didn't change.
    The High (Laptop) settings' value moved between 75 and 95% depending on activity on screen.

    You know, FFXI also takes a bit to interrupt some times ignoring Spell Interruption rate down because..and this may be a shock, the game is just designed to allow some casting to go through before interrupting. Other MMOs aren't designed that way - Heck most MMOs don't even utilize "specialized" stats beyond the basic str/dex/vit and so on.
    This issue plus the "have to cast again to update position" is screwing a ton of people. If your last cast 'updates' your position inside the aoe because you couldn't interrupt it in time, then you have to cast again when out. And that's not always possible if you're not already targeting the boss and thinking about a instant cast (anything with a cast time won't have enough time to go off).

    That could easily be fixed by not updating position based on last skill/cast. Just that normal 0.3s thing, no 'special pleading' update.

    I have problems on dodging most of attacks on TITAN HM (others too, but TITAN HM is worst), but i know that the problem is with my connection and (mostly) with my PS3, so i can't blame SE. If everyone else is dodging and i'm not, how could the problem be with the servers?????? That's just... nonsense.

    Now do that test while casting a spell. Yeah classes with instant cast abilities do not have the problem as often(except elusive jump/brd jump back) but they will have it when they use something with a long animation while moving at the same time. If you are not using abilities you will never see this problem and if you play this game like its FFXI and don't worry about utilizing every millisecond of the GCD you will rarely see this problem. Auto attack updates your position after a ability so melee and brds will have this problem a whole lot less then casters. It is not lag it is a bug where GCD/animations are causing your position to not update properly to the server.

    I have some issues with it in instances and mostly primals. I will generally get out and not get damaged but then three more down the road I do exactly the same thing and get hit.

    - Easily run ARR at 50-60FPS on Maximum settings
    - Verizon FiOs 60Mbps Up/ 40Mbps Down with a ping of 91ms to a random server in Montreal, 99ms to Ragnarok server

    I see this quite frequently:

    Monsters:
    Cast bar appears -> (.3) visual marker appears -> cast bar disappears -> (.3) visual marker disappears -> animation -> (.15~.3) damage is calculated

    This varies with abilities for example with Landslide I observe:
    Cast bar appears -> (.3) visual marker appears -> cast bar disappears -> (.3) visual marker disappears -> damage is calculated -> animation -> knock-back effect

    Hallowed Ground is an excellent example - it waits for the animation to play before the effect is applied.

    Any monster cast bar @ 80%~ is no longer susceptible to Stun or Pacification.

    Shield Bash requires the animation to complete before the Stun effect is applied, Brutal Swing does not. (Tested this by running past enemies while triggering the ability - Swing lands; Bash doesn't)

    I am honestly stumped as to what else I could do to make the game more responsive. I have panic attacks in Titan because everyone seems to move too late to have dodged the mechanic on my screen - and yet they do somehow dodge it their positions updating as the animation fires.

    ..Which could mean lag because the game read's everyone's position at 0.3s, how is it some can dodge and some cannot without there being variables including lag..?
    If you use a castable skill, it screws you because it updates your position now (doesn't wait for 0.3s), but it updates it IN the aoe.

    So it forces you to wait until you see the aoe on the ground to cast (because if it appears WHILE you cast, bye bye, wipe the group).

    It's not the core issue, the devs themselves have confused the core issue for complaints of lag and this fix does not solve said core issue.

    The problem is the positioning check delay and it's a design problem. It's a code problem. It's not a computer, ISP, connection or anything similar problem.

    Call it lag and they'll try to fix the wrong thing. Again, they've already confused it once already.

    It's not the first time a game has had this problem. We've seen it in other MMOs. Those of us with experience know how to differentiate via spellcasts and other forms of lag testing.

    It's not lag.
    It's not FPS.
    It's not an issue with people moving too slowly.
