Stockpiling gil still cause for banhamer?

Was it a month or two ago when people with millions were being banned? I have started making money with my crafting, not too much almost to 2 mil. But I was wondering are people still being banned for having high amounts of gil? if so im done crafting here at 2 mil..

I was one of the players who was suspended and had my gil divided by 100. 22mill down to 220k. More nonsense postings from people who are making assumptions that everyone who was banned was cheating. What a load of crap. If you had of read the pages upon pages of postings at the time of the original suspensions you would have seen dozens of people stating they had done nothing wrong except exploit their excellent marketing skills or be the first level 50 crafters/gathers selling a limited product for exorbitant prices. Prices matched the availability of items. No one was forced to buy anything, so consumer need dictated the prices items were selling for.

I wrote several emails and spoke to customer support asking for a "human" to investigate my account and if I was found guilty to terminate it. Not have a auto script suspend and /100 of my gil. I still haven't received a reasonable response yet and don't expect to in the future.

Luckily I'm back to 25million in the Retainerbank. But having my most of my gill taken and a 10 day suspension whilst it was prime time in game to sell items and services hurt a lot.

As to the OP's question. Who knows what Square Enix will do. If they feel you have too much gil and want to take it, they can plain and simple. But as you only have 2mill gil I would say your safe for a long time yet. To be honest Square Enix didn't have much choice but remove all the gil over a certain amount after it was established people or RMT had found a way to hack the game and duplicate items/gil that placed 500billion+ gil into the Economy. The whole original suspensions/bans were simply a way to remove this damaging amount of gil out of the Economy. Personally I think it would have been more fair to divide everyone's gill by 100 than just take it from people over a certain amount.

Because people will be 110% honest on the Internet when they're caught red handed - If you've been around the MMO block, you'll know why people are quicker to name and shame than sympathize.

Yeah well, that comment is from the same guy who wants job lockouts because others aren't played enough so take his comment with a grain of salt.

SE's stance is that the money they removed was generated illegally and thusly needed removed because the legitimate player base didn't put it into the economy. It's political rhetoric but, there it is. After that embarrassing faux pas I would like to think they'll think twice before pulling a stunt like that again without first investigating because they had a lot of red on their faces after that. I'm not saying it's impossible though. I'm not going to advertise my wealth but I wasn't high enough to be targeting the first time apparently, but since then I've more than doubled what I had so, bluntly put, they had better not touch me.
