Holy Spam in Wanderer's Palace Speed Runs

So I've done a few Speed Runs in WP so far. Runs were pretty good, and we would finish each run at 17 - 20 minutes. The BLM in my party told me that we could do it faster if I were to spam Holy on the mobs.

Problem is, I'm too busy healing the tank in order to spam Holy. I can pull off two Holys if tank is topped off and with regen(1st Holy with Swiftcast) but by then, tank will be at 500 HP and I'll need to Benediction him to stay alive. If there are like 4 enemies left, then I can Holy spam to finish them off, but the BLM was expecting me to Holy Spam from the beginning which again, I think is impossible considering how fast the tanks HP drops. He tells me that other WHMs are able to spam Holy and that it's possible for me to do it with my gear.

Just wondering if there's something I need to be doing, or if Holy Spam is only feasible when the tank has better gear ie. DL with a couple of i90s(if this is the case, then that BLM was expecting too much from me).

Holy is good to use selectively, not spamming. It is a mp drain. Use holy when the flan adds spawn on the second boss... just once per group. It greatly speeds up that fight, and I have never come close to running out of mp.

MP isn't an issue for me, it's DPSing while the tanks HP is dropping like a fly.

You mean if the tank is set up properly? It won't work with just any group.

You need an adequately geared tank. Other than that, use E4E from cross class, SS, and regen for a mitigation combo to buy you time.

If that doesn't do it, then your tank isn't geared enough. If that pulls aggro, your tank is probably geared enough but isn't good enough to handle all the AoE.

This is always assuming you have a PT set up that is optimal for Speed running

I always run WP with FC pplz and its crazy fun on whm

(The more geared the tank the more holy's you can go through - I typically spam holy till the thrash pack is done)

Watch that the tank is using mitigation as well, rampart alone usually isn't enough.

Yeah if it's a FC party, you should all know what you are doing anyway. With pug groups, you really need to watch how the run goes. If the tank is taking rapid damage, you won't be able to do it.
