At this rate, I bet it'll be years till we get lv99. Other classes? ...Sooner, but that'll be a far off dream too...

~blink~ It was 8 years before FFXI had a level 99 cap.
Most MMOs start with a cap of 50, then increase that cap by 10 levels or so with each full expansion.
I suggest being patient. The game's only been out for three months.
And in my opinion, they did. They corrected the server issues in what? Just over two weeks after launch? And they were open about what they were doing, though those that live on Twitter and other social media might disagree.
I see no reason to do more than shrug at such a minor delay.
"And as for the jobs, time is needed to ensure that they are balanced, as well as test them in the context of new content. If we try to push these tweaks out too early, we risk disappointing our players."
Oh Yoshi.. What you fail to understand that.. if a patch is required to come out (for Warrior for example), those players are already dissapointed. You aren't risking dissapointing them.. they are already dissapointed in the thing that you are attempting to adjust already. Pushing your job tweeks out as it's own thing would do nothing but let people know you are working on the balancing, and not going to require 3 months for a OP/UP ability to get patched.
Branch merging is where many bugs get introduced...hah!
When Person A edits the same part of the file as B, and C is the one trying to put the 2 versions of the file together, will he be able to decide what is in and what is out?
-> Then multiply this by number of changed files.
All this branching talk, sounds like they are using Visual Studio And Team Foundation Server to write all their code.
I love this game, but there's just not much to do at max level. Either you raid the same thing over and over... or you farm the same instances over and over.I have leveled a couple of classes to 50 and several trade classes to 50. Leveling other classes is nothing but FATE grinding... and quite frankly, I don't want to play every class. That isn't content. Adding a nice replayability feature is not a substitute for content.
Did my relic quest. Got my AF 2... got my crafting outfits... haven't logged in much in weeks- neither have any of my friends. It's a beautiful and wonderful game. There's just not much to do once you hit max level.
Unless something good hits soon, we will probably all just cancel and come back to check it out in the future when there is more stuff developed.
Wasn't the 2.1 scheduled for the 17th of december?
If it's not out for the 17th december, I won't renew for this month.
We already feel heavily the current situation but scheduling the release after the new year completely obliterate the purpose of playing the game.
Most of my guild mates have dropped the game, I'm in only because I'm running coil 2 hours/3 times a week (the game is costing me 2€/hour which is indeed a lot considering that the game I like usually cost 0.2€ because I play those for 300 hours and they cost at most 60€). "It's nothing", yea the cost isn't HIGH but paying a monthly fee it's something that we do because we want to have new content. Actually we have no new content and we played everything around for a lot of time, this is quite bad.
For high level characters, there is nothing else to do once you do coil, this is terrible. Yea there is also the MYTH cap which is the worst marketing way to keep players on the game.
SE, in this moment I hate you so much that you can't even imagine. Considering how many mmos are coming out in Q1/Q2 2014, you must be careful because if this is the way you keep players "addicted" to your game, you'll loose most of them.
That maybe true but on the other end if they would have conducted more tests before launch they wouldnt be in this mess in the first place.
