There is a lot of fun and content to do depending on the type of player you are.. Some players are end-game players, some like to smell the roses, some like achievements. Yea there is all that stuff, but not everyone is going to be happy to just do all of it.. It is pay to play and unfortunately, that means they need to cater to all playerbases, or some stop paying to play.

If some stop paying, the people that enjoy the OTHER content are going to suffer in the long run. No need to throw the other payers aside like they are doing it wrong. It is their money, and I want SE to have it as well!

I'm not sure it is not common sense. If housing is so expensive that only a FC that pools it's money can afford it and it is outside the realm of possibility for an individual to buy a house due to price, then I think FC first is natural.

It is easier for them to see how things are going with a much smaller housing system (FC) and then (potentially) correct some of those issues and not have them impact most once personal housing is released. As opposed to having over 1 million new houses at once, they might only have to deal with a couple of hundred or so, maybe a thousand. So I understand why they want FC first, but the delay in giving us the FC housing is increasing gamer frustration instead of building suspense/excitement. Most people aren't happily waiting for this update, they are sick and tired of waiting for this update of which has no release date in sight. When is does get released, it's not gonna be a "yay we have FC housing now," it's gonna be more like, "about freakin time they released this, they sure took their sweet ass time for something that is identical to what they showed us in videos a few months ago, what they hell took them so long?"

Another note, I absolute hate this update system they have in place, I liked old FFXIV update system much better. They would release 0.01 updates instead of 0.1 updates. So right now we would be 2.07 and would probably already have the housing implemented (we've all seen the videos of the housing system working, so they aren't in the middle of designing/creating it, it's most likely done with them doing minor touch-ups here and there while we wait forever to use something that should have been in 2.0 from launch.) Instead we have a major update system, where the players wait an extended period with little to no patience, for you to release a 0.1 where you could have released seven 0.01 updates and mini updates like 0.1b. Making us wait for stuff that's done just because you want to release it all at once isn't something that is liked by many of your customers, in fact it's hated by many.

With the old FF XIV update system we would be at 2.0a or 2.0b (the small updates between the main updates had always letters, not a number) with FC housing still coming in 2.1, because it would be big enough for a main update.
Who say it is done already and that the devs don't do still some tweaks here and there?

while i do agree it a bit boring to run have a limit choice of endgame place. This is nothing new in MMO, I have yet to see any mmo that have enough content at its release.

They used to release enough content to last over a year once upon a time.

People who are willing to pay for this garbage today are the reason why the standard of gaming quality has dropped to what it is today. It just gives companies an excuse to milk the cow.

Anyways, lets not go there. That is another whole topic on it's own.

Taemek, I went to your site and saw you are looking forward to EQ Next now. Trust me, with your kind of approach to gaming you will be bored of EQ Next and consider it "garbage" in less than a month. Once, content lasted a year because people, instead of rushing like mad thru everything, took the time to explore and look at the scenery, to role play, to chat, to help other players, to just goof around with friends and guildies etc. Now, if they developed double the content it would simply mean that players would play twice the hours a week. :P

On top of this they had raids that could 10 times longer than they do now but do to health concerns and players complaining about length of time. If anything its somewhat our fault for wanting stuff quicker faster. The content itself still takes the same amount of time to create companies now are just making it that much easier to finish.

Lies, content lasted so long because it was actually difficult at some points. Now mmorpgs are trending to be a CoD brand. Put the fact the games actually had difficulty aside, the whole concept of mmos was fresh still which lengthen any new games life. Like honestly I have flash backs of EQ/Runescape early XI and i'm like wtf was I thinking. What mmos are lacking now is innovation.

At this point it is the choose SE make, do they want to keep their 600k subscribers or they want to run a small mmo, my guess would be anyone who play around 6 hours a week will now have 1 character coil ready, turn 1 to turn 4 will takes about 3-10 hours to crack depend on how good your groups are turn 5 will be 1-4 weeks down the line depend how hard you want to push it, so majority of player would reach the end of coil by the time 2.1. Releasing sub top end content will do little to keep the majority happy.
It is probably too late now but they have to make the choose of either invest to make the dev team bigger, so more content to keep players playing or keep the investment small and hope there are enough player stick around to turn a profit on this game.

Rightly or wrongly player will expect more consider your turn over is move than 6million a month on this game and even just 5% of that should be enough to fund an other team to work on contents.
