I can understand their decision on this. Instance servers had, and still have, a lot of stress due to so many people accessing them all of the time. Housing is also instanced. If they did individual housing first, they'd most likely have overloaded instance servers all of the time. With FC housing first, you're automatically limited with regard to the number of houses that can be purchased. This allows them to see the stress involved and adjust accordingly. The result (hopefully) will be that when player housing is introduced, they have instance servers that are more optimized and can handle the load.

In all seriousness, if their Tech devs don't know how to calculate the stress that will be applied to those servers for housing, then they need to get new Tech devs who are skilled enough to code correctly.....

Majority of the player base is not even in a FC and if they are, their Linkshells are the more common social stomping grounds here. So for most people, they want player housing, not FC housing.

They really should release some of the 2.1 content earlier so they can get both Player and FC Housing out in 2.1.

Well i certainly agree with him, i have no free company so free company housing doesn't concern me. So far this 2.1 update has only one thing that interests me, and that's the beauty salon. Hardly enough to keep someone subbed. I feel come January the 600,000+ subs will take a bit of a drop since some subbed for 3 months for the rewards, myself included. But i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Honestly? If people are getting bored with the game already, then they don't have what it takes to play an MMO. I mean, what kind of MMO veteran would honestly be complaining about lack of content right now or think 2.1 won't deliver? Probably the same people wondering when the cap will be raised, I imagine, lol.

dont have what it takes to play an MMO ? what kind of vet would be bored? lol this ignorant comment just makes me laugh ... what kind of vet mmo player would be bored? ill tell you the kind of vet that likes to play an MMO and progress their character for more then 1.5 hours a WEEK .... and before you spout off that crap about plenty of content let me say that LEVELING ALTS IS NOT END GAME CONTENT

Funny but true. I'm not a veteran MMO player (I guess? played FFXI for 8yrs) and I'm bored of the game login few times a week to do coils/cap myth.

TBH what SE should have done was made leveling like FFXI pre abyssea days like 10kexp/hr if you had good party. I don't care if Yoshi said he want the game to start at 50or not shouldn't had made it such a easy grind to 50 and we wouldn't be having most of these threads. Yoshi wanted the true game to start at 50 (or w/e he said) then they should have put some real End Game content in. Maybe in 6-12 months this game will be better but until then its going down slowly.

i do think Square should just give out Allagan to those people that feel they are waiting too long

My main concern is that it is too little far too late. Nov 22 for part 1 of a discussion about a content patch that could have been released in small pieces starting weeks ago.
