Can someone tell me what they actually do? The tooltip says one thing, but the buff says another. :/

fire: deal 5% more damage
earth: take 10% less damage
wind: allows you to run marginally faster (does not decrease gcd!)

OK thanks for your help.
Fire and Earth are very useful currently... Wind makes me sad.

The ease with which to change between Fire & Earth is very useful. An extra 10% resistance to drop when a primal or boss uses an ability, then switch right on back to Fire.
Without a buff to the inc in movement speed I cannot see a use to Wind. An inc in skill speed (gcd) would be hard to make useful too, as it would either be outclassed by Fire's damage buff, or reach a point where it exceeds Fire's damage potential, which would render either useless.
Personally I think if it would regen TP at the cost lower damage whilst active, perhaps double TP regen for 50% less damage, it would be much more useful. Monk is primarily based on never ending little hits that all add up, and running out of TP with a high speed / high damage rotation is frustrating.
Maybe even replacing MP with a chakra bar (as no-one uses MP moves on monk) which feeds the Fists of Earth/Fire/Wind's abilities could be a way to enhance their usefulness.
