I admit I'm greedy when it comes to this. If I got an area to myself and someone comes along, I'm not going to leave anything available if I can tag it first. I hate having to farm things and would much rather finish things as soon as possible, and competing for spawns just slows things down.

However it also kind of goes both ways for me. If I arrive at a farming area and someone's already there, I'll go look for some other place to farm since I wouldn't want to slow down their farming.

If you consider this mobbing. You need to go and try some really old school MMOs where we could pick up the entire map, aoe it all at once, crash the server.

If someone is trying to tag every spot undermine them and tag the spot they were at before. Mobs spawn in clusters and if they venture outside the cluster they risk missing the respawn. If they are over-extended it should be easy to undermine them, and they will retreat in the face of strong competition (unless they are a bot, those guys just suck, but bots tend to be weak competition as they tend to stay still and attack only in their range).

Farming is just perfect competition, few give consideration so why should someone start. You have to just deal with it. You can preach for everyone to share if you like but it will probably earn you less fleece or whatever you're farming than simply trying to beat them at their own game.

FWIW I do give some consideration; if there is a non-50 trying to attack for quests, logs or whatever i'll tag then enemy and let them finish it off, giving them credit for the kill but I still get the items. It's win win and I have nothing to lose doing this.

Just think of it as a competitive thing, nothing wrong with friendly competition.

I farm alot and I see it all. I've had players get mad at me. I've had players apologize for "infringing". I've had players tell me to get lost and had players ask if they can have some mobs.

I don't really see a problem overall but the one thing that does bother me is when players "kite" the mobs in one area, meaning they "tag" every mob to claim them and then AoE them or kill one at a time.

Btw, in Coerthas there is a GuildLeve "Necrologos: Cinerary Rite." which spawns a bunch of sheep, once you kill 5 the Pudding Boss spawns which sometimes drops Pudding Flesh which sells for a lot on the AH (It is needed for an Alchemy Guild Test and is hard to get).
If you have some Leve Allowances, it is a decent alternative for farming Fleece with no competition.
