Quite ironic that on the day of Eorzeas downfall from Bahamut, that one year later I clear Bahamut's Coil.
Don't make me remember version 1.0 once more, I miss it too much already.
Happy Meteor Survivor Day for everyone! I can proudly say that I was there, and survived!
A year already... where has that time gone? I still remember the anticipation, the 'doomsday clock' counter on the loginscreen, the gloomy jaundiced tone of everything, that haunting remix of Answers replacing all zone BGM, and of course, server instability (I couldn't get to Mor Dhona as I got agroed by a goblin on the way and just homepointed back to Gridania, then I just sat in the Airship Dock there awaiting the end, until I was booted off the server half an hour before.).
My final screenshot I took just before my ill-fated attempt to participate in the Battle of Carteneau:

(I'm sorry for the messy GUI - I'd changed displays and the resolution was messed up, hence the interface went funny).
I don't know why it should say called a happy event though, given Dalamud's apocalyptic nature, but it's still worth remembering (as well as the real-life day of remembrance it also happens to coincide with).

I quit before Meteor and came back for Alpha. What does that make me?
Ill never forget that day! and to see the movie after we lost connection was sweet and to be there...it wasn't so glamorous and lag was everywhere but still nice to have been part of...i miss V1.
Seeing the end of an era video/movie right after the servers went down was great.. still an excellent piece, but it had the most impact at that point (particularly if you were fighting the server crashes to get back in.. I think we left a few of them melted by the end ^^;![]()
Not just Veteran's Day, it's also Remembrance Day up here in Canada.
;__;7 RIP Louis. You did good.
After a few days of /praying to the Twelve, forming Goobbue walls outside Ul'dah, running around Mor Dhona trying to stop the flow of Imperials and just having a blast, me and my linkshell ported back to Limsa for one final prayer to the Navigator and to watch Dalamud fall. Months spent watching the lesser moon get closer and closer, a few weeks with it looming so close that weather patterns were disrupted and the XIVth legion's airships filled our skies night and day, we all gathered as friends at what is now called the Anchor Yard. A final salute to the Admiral by us Maelstroms, and that was that.
One of the most powerful moments in my gaming career, and though 2.0 lacks a lot of what I loved in 1.xx, this game will forever be special for it.
