RMT Imitating Legit Players with Names

So my FC and I are sitting in toll the other day and we see a RMT spam in shout. And we immiedately start questing our FC member as to why he was spamming for RMT sites in shout.

He's like

"Lol, that's not me, someone copied my name"

And sure enough, the RMT's name was but 1 letter off of our FC member's name. Then I saw it again later, and at least 3 more after that where RMT were copying names of high levels with high gear etc.

As if they are sitting in toll making a list of people to copy, then they make a character with a name as close as they can get it and spam as that name trying to trick people into thinking it is that person.

I can see a lot of innocent people getting black listed or reported over this.

SE NEEDS to get on the case much more faster than they are now. It's honestly getting out of hand.

Yeah it's scary, earlier today we even had a thread that read like a poorly executed setup for RMT advertising.
I think it's been deleted now and I'm still not sure if it was just a troll but basically it was some guy asking "How can I get a lot of gil fast?" replying to every suggestion with "Thank you but is there a faster way?" until finally someone else posted a RMT site.

Any day now I'm expecting SE to decide to just give up on what's left of the economy and just screw with the RMTs by handing out several Millions to every character logging in.

It may be P2P, but the first month is free. Though the $60 game charge is confusing to me because I'm not sure how far they could milk that in terms of mass creation of accounts/characters. In my opinion, getting rid of that free period would likely cause a very sizable drop in RMT spammer numbers, since they'd just be losing money by paying $13 per account to get in only to have it banned soon after and be forced to do it all over again (and get banned, again). This is, of course, assuming SE is on the ball on banning these accounts and not just sweeping the problem under the rug.

Why would they impersonate possible customers? This sounds something more like a troll would do instead of a business. I don't know if I should be laughing or frustrated at their methods.

This calls for the report button in the chat subcommand. SE needs to script a form that records chat messages, the player that sent it, and the time code. All we need to do is input what type of report it is and where to send it.

RMT evolve at level 16 with a nugget and then evolve again at level 38 with a big nugget.

What they need to do is redesign the black list so that blacklists are saved server side. And give use more powerful tools for black listing people. E.g. right click add to black list, etc. And when we black list someone it should pop up with a category that says "Why?" and we select a reason.

Then SE can run reports against the black lists server side. If someone shows up on many black lists as being RMT black listed they can auto ban them pending farther investigation. And this tool could be automated 100% running in the background every 30 minutes or so.

A quick problem that could arise with the many postings would be a conflict between large FC's, "report X Name everyone"
