Yoshi-P is doing his best and is patching Endwalker. Please wait warmly until it is ready.

The only reason you got that experience message is because your chocobo is out. For some reason, at 50, it still says you gain experience when your chocobo is out, even though you don't technically gain any, only your chocobo if it isn't capped.
As upset and unfortunate this is for the OP, this thread has some good information. I knew the general details on rested XP like only use it on your highest class that's not capped and there is a limit on how much rested XP you can accumulate. However, I didn't know that it caps out at 1.5 to 2 levels of your current class. Now I wish I logged out on my 30 THM I'm leveling instead of logging out on the ACN I leveled to 5 just so I could have psychic for BLM...
No, It does not work this way. That bar only fills when you are in sanctuaries such as the outposts with Aetheryte crystals and the inn in town. It absolutely does not fill when killing enemies. You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how this system works. Also, as other users have pointed out the bonus exp works as a percentage of a level. So if you have a full bar that means you get an exp boost for a full level. If you are a level 1 job then that means you will exhaust the entirety of your bonus extremely fast. If you were on a higher level job you will get much much more exp out of the bonus. So use it wisely.I was literally watching as I was doing raid runs on Paladin at level 50. At first, I was under the impression that once you hit level 50, you just stopped getting EXP. However, as I kept clearing missions, my "rested EXP" bar kept getting bigger and bigger. I wasn't in a sanctuary. I never set foot in one. I just pushed through Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium. I WATCHED this bar get bigger and bigger until it finally filled up and turned blue.
Clearly, that implies that the thousands and thousands of EXP from those runs were going somewhere.

There isn't actually a question in your op, other than the bolded part.So I played Paladin 50 for about a week, finishing the main story quest series, beating Ultimate Weapon, starting Relic Weapon quest. All of this EXP pushed the little "bonus EXP" thing all the way past a full blue bar (562,000) for a few days. But I went and unlocked Miner and I LOST IT ALL - over half-a-million - GONE.
I submitted the report to a GM using "Support Desk" via the in-game interface. I was answered with "Go to SE Support and submit a trouble ticket." I did. THEY replied with "Submit an in-game bug report." I did that too, only to have someone on this forum try to "answer" it with "It's not a bug, you just used up a whole 'bar' going from Miner 1 to 2."
This is slowing down level progression of my other combat jobs because I simply do not have enough quests to get EXP. All that's left is FATE grinding or levequests.
Can I get some THOUGHT on my report before someone just shouts out a statement that doesn't answer my question?
And the answer has been covered by more or less everyone. You probably should have read the tutorial pop-up.
Are we sure the cap is at two levels? I've had a bunch of rested exp due to hanging out in Rev Toll but I leveled my THM from 15 -> 26 this weekend and not once did the exp bar become not capped for rested exp.

When we say current class, we mean the one you're using it on. Getting 1.5 levels of rested, while being on a 50, won't give you massive amounts for a low level. It will still be 1.5 levels for the low level. Hence the percentage. As upset and unfortunate this is for the OP, this thread has some good information. Yes. The reason it seems to last longer is that it ONLY applies to Experience gained from kills/crafts/gathers. Leve/Fate/Quest XP doesn't use it at all, so it can seem to last longer than you'd think. If you ground out the whole amount it would be the right amount.
That's the thing though. While I'm not arguing that it is more than 2 levels, I didn't just FATE grind. I threw a couple of dungeons in there as well as participated in FATEs in which you also get exp from killing the monsters themselves. When you say 2 levels, do you mean only the extra exp gained from the rested bonus counts against the amount stored?
For example, if I gained 300 exp (100%). 150 exp from the monster kill, 75 from armory bonus, and then 75 from rested. Does only the 75/total exp for that level * 100 count against my rested bonus?
Yes I understand that and under that assumption since I logged out on a level 5 ACN, I will only gain 1.5 levels of rested XP based on level 5. Now if you gain the same amount of rested XP if you log out on a level 1 class as you do a level 50 class (I highly doubt this), then the class you log out as doesn't matter.
