Maybe they are planning on doing RP like events, such as Urianger / no music and heavy rain
shortly before the mid-June patch, to sort of bring the new era.

Because... Grand Companies will come back. But only if there's war.
So no war = no reason to come back.

Wow.... I couldn't really read the version of the map SE gave us. I didn't realize that we have hafe of the game content missing, we have 8 areas currently and there 8~10 areas with there own dungeons still missing. Which makes me wonder really how much did the former team complete, and will SE be able to release all those maps before the first expansion. because isn't it harder to make new maps than remake the battle system?

Anyway for someone who stated stuff about the map. That was planed. SE stated ffxiv was gonna be the same size as ffxi @ jp ps2 launch. And it is. The other areas will get added in expacts and bigger updates after the battle fixes.
