SE should make a Xbox 1 version of FFXIV at the same time as PS4 version

Microsoft is refusing to allow cross platform play with XBOX and they are demanding an additional subscription to thier XBox live to even play it.

MS is refusing to bend the policies for XIV like the did XI, so no go.

Even if they allowed all that stuff, nobody is going to buy a xbone in Japan. That thing will mainly only sell in the US alone.

Considering the rules MS has put in place, the only way it could be done without MS reversing their policies is for there to be FFXIV worlds that ONLY XBone players can log into, and ONLY run duty finder to connect to other XBone players, and nobody else.

Does that really seem either functionally or financially in SE's best interests? They shoulder all of the crap just so MS gets a bigger chunk of the profits?

If that is true, they can make exceptions to their rules like they did with XI.

They can, but they won't. Complain to Microsoft, it's not Square's fault and there's nothing they can do about it.

X Box won't ever have an MMO worth playing. I hear they demand a large chunk of the sub fees generated by the MMO. I seriously doubt SE wants to pay a large % of their profit to MS just so they can have the game on the X Box. Idk how much Sony may charge SE for all this but I am guessing its not as much as MS would want.

X Box and PS4 players together and interacting and being ...shudder...near each other? Dear God the amount of fighting and daily arguments over who has the superior system. I can't imagine the horror.

Also PC players already whine about PS3 being here, X Box getting added is just another thing for them to complain about.

While I don't plan on getting FFXIV for my PS4, gonna just play it on my PC, this is one of the many reasons I sold my 360 to GameStop and preordered a PS4. I don't know what I was thinking anyway. I had a PSOne and later a PS2 growing up. God only knows why I switched to an Xbox 360 instead of getting a PS3.

All will be right in the world come 11/15.

As others have said, SE tried, MS didn't want to budge. Go pester them, maybe they'll change their minds. I sincerely doubt it, but feel free to waste your time.

as far as I know TESO will come out on both new consoles, but for the price of all three plattforms having separate servers... people are already far too divided in the stupid console wars. I personally really hope microsoft reconsiders, even if my console of choice will be from sony because they at least don't flat out tell me 'yes we spy on you but you love us for it' :P
