Maybe, but you'd had to time it well with both your healer as well as the damaging effect. Giving yourself an instant +xx% vitality doesn't give you more HP instantly, it just raises your HP cap, for which you still need to be healed (or resting) to get to the new cap. I guess maybe you could pop both a vitality and health potion for a spike health check, assuming you could get them both off in time (depends on what's coming), but given their cool-downs they're still one-off deals. Let's say the team goes on to wipe anyway for whatever reason. You've just gone and burned some highly time/resource expensive potions for nothing.

As for offensive potions, it'd had to be a really tight dps check that couldn't be saved by preserving your power cool-downs until the dps check is needed.
