Were you paralyzed when you tried using it? As far as I know you can only use it on yourself too...
Yeah, paralysis unfortunately is annoying in that it may randomly interrupt any action you try taking, whether that is casting a spell, using an ability, or even just trying to walk - using an item (like the very item designed to remove the effect) also suffers from this. FFXI suffered from this problem as well.
It's why I hate the paralysis debuff with a passion - as it's just so frustrating how negatively it affects play.
Also, do keep in mind there are some variants of status effects that can't be removed by any means. For example, the ADS in Binding Coil inflicts an unremovable paralysis with its High Voltage.
Maybe they're going for realism. If you're really paralyzed, you shouldn't be able to pop a potion, right?
ok. its mainly the paralysis in ADS. and i saw someone say that it cant be removed and thats the only time ive ever tried using a spine drop lol. O wells, thanks for the replies.
Yep, ADS is an exception to the rule. Not removable via Spine Drops. Have used Spine Drops successfully in AK on the effect from the bees at demon wall, and in Cutter's Cry on last boss chimera. Not sure about Dhorme Chimera, never tried it there.
Spine drops likely work on Dhorme Chimera too since Esuna/Leeches works.
I can confirm that Spine Drops work on Chimera, too. However, since they've got a long cooldown, you probably won't be able to use them more than once in the fight. At that point, I'm totally justified in yelling at Estellios for not healing me enough.![]()
