Even if we break off some of the content and release it ahead of time in a 1.17b patch (which me might!), 1.18 will still go live sometime in mid-June at the earliest. Sorry for that.

"Might" do something is not as strong as "probably". You're reading promises that simply were not made. That we got a 1.17b does not imply that any of 1.18 was broken off ( though likely it was a very small chunk consisting of a finished piece that didn't depend on the rest )

Actually...the NA letter was the only one that said that. For some reason, that small bit was added in the translation. Renta posted an accurate direct translation of the original JP letter, and even looking at the letter in the other regions, NA is the only version that has that sentence.

I mean seriously guys. FFXIV can't be a success without around 25 different targetting modes. Hell, I need a different one for each type of mob. This sort of thing keeps me up at night.

The issue we seen content from 1.18... the changes that we seen was the 1.18 content that was finished.

I see the translation as part of the content from the update... not actual game content. Like others said there was not anything mentioned in any other language.

It was a quick fix patch.. just like every other a, b path there has been.

So honestly the patch was exactly what I expected, a small fix it patch. People just expected an expansion from a minor patch Yoshi-P said probally wouldn't even happen. Everyone should be happy they are working hard enough to even of released it.
