Too Much Maintenance

SE is well compensated by those HUGE numbers of unexpected players. So I don't feel a lot of sympathy. What they are likely to do is drive players to start looking at other pay for monthly fee sites if they can't get it together. I know WOW is looking appealing once again.
I have been playing here for two months, and the number of maintenance nights is mind boggling and off putting. I am feeling badly because I convinced two other friends to come and play here with me. Perhaps as others have suggested, if what they were fixing was noted. People could look around and feel like they were noticing a change. The down time might be worth it. That or they do need to look at some sort of compensation, a pet or mount..something to say thanks for bearing with us.

Just my two cents, which I wouldn't be offering if I wasn't suffering my second or third down time in a week.. I would be in the game playing..

I'm not terribly bothered by maintenance. I get it, some things need to be fixed. However, telling us what's going on is a good idea. If for no other reason than it's the polite thing to do. I'm on the kidney transplant list and I have to see a heart doctor every year for my yearly check up. Last year, the doctor they sent me to ordered a heart catheterization. During the post appointment, all my doctor told me was that everything was okay. Didn't tell me what he saw that caused him to order a catheritization, or what the operation told him. Just everything was okay. This infuriated me. And while this is most definitely not the same thing, it is close. Not knowing just pisses people off. Especially if you're taking their money.

I don't mind the maintenance, but fix some of the most glaring issues with the game. Like those goddamn gold spammers in the capital cities.
