I think they are doing two things:
1- Fixing whatever exploit RMT using atm to make a quick buck. We usually don't even know about them, so I think they don't feel like talking about it.
2- Preparing the servers for patch 2.1.

atleast you managed to get all the jobs to 50Yes, you. YOU. Square.
How many "network/database" maintenances do you need to perform on a weekly basis? First it was a few days for one, then it was every two days, now it's every day?
You have got to be joking me.
Can I contact your Customer Service for a refund please.
And can you please stop dodging and deleting threads without even offering any response. You have tons of customers sick and tired of your daily maintenances. Giving us a response is the LEAST you could do. What kind of garbage customer service are you running here?

It's ok they'll eventually get this newfangled MMO thing right just give them a chance.
It's ridiculous to make sure the game's problems are fixed! Totally!
/sarcasm
I just think it's funny that when people complain about too many maintenance's in a week the augment against that is we'd never get anything fixed otherwise.
What happened to a set weekly schedule for doing maintenance that basically ever other AAA mmo follows? The same amount of issues would be fixed every week.
Sure, if you have a real emergency, like they had a couple of days ago, bring down the servers and do what must be done. But, when you schedule a maintenance for 24-48 hours in advance, it's no longer an emergency.
The fact that they are doing a maintenance every 2-3 days means this game is in trouble. Either they have some serious issues in the back end that require frequent shutdown and cleanup, or they have so many RMT/hacker based issues that come up every day that require fixing without explaining what broke. Neither of those cases bodes will for the game.
I understand why some people would be upset by the fact that at this time there are many times the game is being taken down while they fix things. The thing is they can and will do what they need to do to fix problems.
They do not owe any of us any explanation other than they need to do it.
So many people these days think game companies owe us something because we buy their product or pay them for a service.
While i do agree they do owe us as good a service as they can give us, i also agree that is exactly what they are trying to do.
My advice would be to take a deep breath and try to be as understanding as you can and wait it out or you can logout and cancel your sub and play something else.
I've been saying this since day one but I get White Knighted down.I don't care about the amount of maintances.
What I do care is about the silence from the Devs at the moment, we don't know what these mants are about, if they are working properly, what are they trying to fix, etc. People, including myself, would be more comfortable with this if we actually knew what was happening. SE needs to break the mold and the stereotype of the "AAA Companies don't communicate with their community, we don't need to tell them of our intricate master plan" (Exaggeration optional)
I just want to know what they are doing because RMT's and lags are still existing...and hacks.
They owe us as good as service as they can give us? Is that like no child left behind? Or everyone is a winner? That's your level of requirement for a service that you pay real money for? I don't care if that money is the price of your sandwich yesterday, you really should start holding companies to a higher level of quality for services they should be providing you.I understand why some people would be upset by the fact that at this time there are many times the game is being taken down while they fix things. True that a company doesn't owe you anything, but you also don't owe them your money either.

				XD
I guess you haven't been with SE very long then? If I had seen one of these in my FFXI my jaw would have literally dropped to the floor.
