    Contemplating returning

    Hello,

I played since P4 and EA until my PC started shutting off from OH (6k BM). Working on new PC but two things holding me back:

First, my inability of sticking to a class. I was enjoying Mrd/War for while, but reading how tanking sort of falls off endgame is disappointing. Now after seeing videos & forums I've narrowed it down to these:

    BLM DRG BRD

Second is endgame, I'm not asking for what is the best, but experiences using the first two. Bard I've read has been all over and getting nerf soon, though I like the idea of DPS/Support. For most endgame strats involve lots of moving around to avoid damage and I see this can be a problem (i.e Demon Wall, HM Titan, etc) with BLM(interruptions) and DRG (dps loss).

My reasons are that I don't want to go all out in one job post relic only for it to be left out for other preferred jobs. I wont have time to work on two classes and relics due to my 9-5 and other responsibilities.

So perhaps this community could help?

"Tanking sort of falls off endgame"... what?

People prefer PLD right now, if that's what you were talking about, but WAR should get a buff in 2.1.

BLM, DRG, and BRD all have their own uses in endgame fights.

God I hope they don't nerf bard...cause I actually do alright. But on the other hand there are no specialized armor olr items for bard ...makes me suspicious that maybe they might change something.

There are ARC/BRD focused sets as you get higher level. Example: Darklight and Allagan gear both have an "-of aiming" set which are ARC/BRD only and focus on DEX.

Sorry, char limit. I did mean War tanking falls off. Good to know about 2.1 though.

I thought the producer from the feed commented that "Bard is a little too strong", yet there is another thread thats 52 pages about incoming nerf lol.

Even post nerf I may end up maining Bard because I like that you can shoot and move, and they look cool in Darklight, but AF2 not so much. Corsair from XI is a good example of a Dps/Hybrid but dice rolls were too random and you didn't get much room to shoot if you're running between dps and mages -- or in most cases I was in, buff PT, drop PT, rinse repeat. Not very fun.

Actually every DPS class, they all are strong depending on the rotation you use or what type of buffs you choose to ensure that they can max out their dps.

What I am trying to say is, staying focus on one class and feeling inferior to other classes may discourage you but if you actually know how to utilize your class at the optimum, and in fact know your role you have to play in your team in every dungeon, you will realize that what you are playing actually is fun and not inferior to others.

I agree Warrior is weaker comparably to paladin, that is why its getting a buff at 2.1. So you can probably keep up with this class and hopefully 2.1 gives a fairly good boost to warrior.

As for whatever DPS class being OP, I don't see the difference if one player actually screws up his/her rotation will eventually result in being the worst DPS or best DPS in the team. As long as the team kills things on time, DPS have done a great job regardless of who is strongest or weakest.
