Pretty much what everyone has already said. Easily to abuse. No thank you.

"some people have" not everyone.
If you think about it, isn't it easy to abuse every thread as it lies? All you have to do is say. "Nope, i dont agree, your idea is stupid."
Now if that were to happen, the OP could delete those posts and people could easily ignore trolls and be able to actually post their own opinions and not be influenced by these short-sentence posts, give more of a reason why something doesn't work or why it would work.
OP's shouldn't even be bothered to delete constructive posts like that because they are actually worth reading.
You can ignore trolls by simply not responding. They can write bullshit posts all they want but the beauty of it is that they aren't stopping you, the logical human being, from posting your ideas as well. Why give OP the power to delete every post that he doesn't agree with? It would only serve to shit these boards up even more."some people have" not everyone.

/like for OP ^^
I think it would also make people think twice before posting something like "LOL go back to WoW N00B!!!@#@#" and end up posting something like "i disagree because..." or not post at all if they have nothing constructive.

Nuru, responding "your idea is stupid" is a different kind of abuse. Allowing people to censor their own threads defeats the purpose of a forum.

^^This.
The point of the forums is to open up a discussion and let people's viewpoints be heard (seen?).
If this were implemented and people, as you suggested, had to start "rebuttal" threads to a topic if they disagreed with a poster's idea you're going to have multi-page madness and good topics/discussions continuously bumped to page 5. EVERYONE would want to create their own topic to lord over.
Does anyone (or the devs for that matter) really want to read 10+ threads on one single issue? My guess is "ummm........not really" based on the numerous "hey buddy, that thread already exists" posts I see pop up on repeated topics.
Just put the trolls on "ignore" (protip: then it's up to YOU to actually ignore them... if you keep taking them off so you can find out what rubbish they responded with, it kinda defeats the purpose)

Seems like the easier way of implementing this would be to stop people on your blacklist from being able to post in your topic.

Only three types of people should be allowed to delete posts: admins, moderators, and the person that created their own post. Allowing any more is pathetic and defeats the purpose of discussion.
