Compensation for death times

I welcome maintenance.
I know they are not doing it for fun, and it will only make the game better.

Since release there have been way too many maintenances causing less time to actually play (gameplay death time)
A lot of people are mad about this. While maintenance is needed, it is also required to keep players happy.
The ideal alternative approach I see is to reward players with some sort of discount, or in-game rewards such as unique items, gil, or others.
What kindof rewards you would like ( besides the obvious less maintenance, fix shit quickly )
