    Yes but when does responsivness go too far?

    This game's already far more twitch-reaction based and far less strategy based than what has existed previously in both single and MMO based Final Fantasies. Which is fine, to some degree, but asking for an instant-reaction immunity to most attacks without wind up, or pretty much any balancing factor aside from cooldown? No, I think that steps too far.


    There needs to be abilities, on separate cool-downs, that do not function instantly. Benediction and Hallowed Grounds are powerful skills that can, and pretty much do reset the encounter. In many cases that turns the "osh*t" button into an "iwin" button, because you used a cheap one off skill to circumvent the hardest part of the fight for you. There's no skill on any other job that matches these two for usefulness and there ARE wind ups to plenty of other lesser skills.

    Again, I'm standing firm in the position that the error here is that the tooltip lists 'instant' rather than a cast time. These abilities do not need changing, nor should they really be reliant crutches you press only in an emergency.

    Otherwise, if so, then other skills sharing the same level 50 Job Skill slot need immediate and substantial buffs, cause right now, even with the wind up, there are no better skills for combat resets then Benediction and Hallowed Ground, not short of hinting Limit Break Territory, which these skills are fairly close to being well on their own.

    This complaining is starting to sound less like an actual mechanical issue and more about people having sour grapes for getting a bit of bad luck and not having opportunity to react quickly enough. I can agree as far is that players can feel slighted that it does not function as advertised. That does not mean, however that the ability is broken for its intended purpose.

I feel its kinda more real if skills have animations before taking effect, but we all have our wishes

    The guys defending this behavior is basically saying 'this game would be too easy if all your ability actually worked like they claim'. And that if your screen actually displayed something that remotely resembled reality too in terms of timing mechanism.

    Just so all of you know it is not animation delay and stop trying to blame it on that. The animation happens, and the buff shows on your bar AND THEN it counts down to 8 before actually becoming invincible. I would be fine if it was after the animation but it is not. Use ability-animation goes off-buff goes on your bar-2 seconds later become invincible. Was playing WoW today and used my cds and i couldn't believe that i could use them all at the same time and they took effect instantly. Crazy how much shitty UI ruins a good game.

    This is it 100% accurate statement. You blame SE but the game built on dedicated Servers that pull from All Worlds is the real problem.
    There is LATENCY ISSUES that SE will blame your ISP and you will Blame SE.

    The winner here is clearly the client that has a faster stronger Internet at home. If your using Wireless ... try going back to Ethernet connection. If your using Ethernet try doing a PING TEST.. Maybe your ISP is doing a throttle back during peak hours.

    Never can tell with ISP and games that depend on PING times less than .05 seconds. It's never going to be fair to the average internet subscriber.

    I hope that works out for you.

    I mean, all players experience this to some degree with abilities. Everyone knows this is an issue, including the devs. I'd say, the best thing you could do is report your issue in the proper section; but who knows, perhaps your ultimatum in 'general discussion' (the area saturated with 'I quit' ultimatums) will be the one thing to turn this issue around for us.

    The fact that HG is unreliable as an "oh shit" button is something that I've learned the hard way, multiple times at that. Now I tend to call it out in advance before using it at around 20-30% hp in coil so that healers get some breathing room and can focus on the other tank for a few seconds.

    Hallowed Ground does indeed have a delay, but what's really spiteful is that it can go onto CD, and then you die anyways because the CD starts when you pop it NOT when it starts working. This is so goddamned aggravating. Either make HG pop instantly, or make the CD only start when it actually goes off. Right now you hit HG, it goes on CD, you're still vulnerable for about 2-3 seconds, THEN it starts working. It's literally the worst "OH SHIT" button ever made because you actually have to predict the future and use it before you get to "OH SHIT" and even then you might die and you've wasted it because it's on CD and you died anyways!
