It only works in Full Screen mode not Windowed/Borderless Windowed if that's any help.

Same for me. I played in full screen and it doesn't detect FFXIV.

It doesn't have to detect the game. Just open shadowplay and turn it on then play XIV in fullscreen. You'll see the little shadowplay icon in the corner of the screen (assuming you have it turned on) to let you know it's working.

ShadowPlay leverages the H.264 hardware encoder found on GeForce GTX 600 and 700 Series graphics cards to record 1920x1080, 60 frames per second. All DirectX 9 and newer games are supported. In comparison to software solutions that hammer the CPU, ShadowPlay’s hardware solution has an approximate 5-10% performance impact when using the max-quality 50 mbps recording mode, and by saving to automatically-encoded and compressed H.264 .mp4 files, ShadowPlay avoids the disk-thrashing, humongous, multi-gigabyte files associated with other gameplay recording applications.
And by the way, it's only 10 minutes of shadow recording with windows 7
Still neat but would be nice to get 20.

was anyone able to get it fixed? I can't get it to work in my FFXIV either. my other games have no problem but in FF the status icon never shows up. I've tried fullscreen, window etc. too

ShadowPlay works quite well with FFXIV and there is nothing special that needs to be done to make it work with FFXIV. All you need to do is start up the Geforce Experience application, click on the ShadowPlay tab and then flip the switch so it's on. Then select which mode you want to record in (automatic or manual) and then press Alt+F9 to start/stop recording. Remember that ShadowPlay is still in beta so it's rather feature gimped at the moment. As for the game scanning, that's not the ShadowPlay application, that's the Geforce Experience application scanning your system for compatible games to optimize.

i finally got it to work. i never had a problem with my other games (dota, hearthstone etc). for some reason in FFXIV it wouldn't work. i even tried manually pressing the manual record and auto record. i double checked my settings to make sure it was running.

What got it to work for me was I un-installed the game and re-installed it. I installed it to a different location where most of my other games typically are. Launched FF and it worked! hope that helps anyone here.
