If a Healer is overtaking your Enmity on secondary mobs through Flash/Overpower, its the Healers fault.I also need to constantly keep hate on mobs, which is difficult.
Now I feel I have to constantly flash and provoke or it is very easy for a mob to get away, start attacking healer, then I have to focus on getting hate form that mob, only to have the original mob lose hate and go for healer. It's a juggling act I just hate having to always deal with.
Meanwhile party is getting mad because I don't keep hate.
I say with a fair degree of certainty, having leveled both tank classes, and both heal classes. And the reason is as follows:
>-|Overhealing|<- It actually generates a LOT of Enmity on everything all at once. I don't mean a Overheal of maybe 20 or 30, I'm referring to ADD Healers who drop 250+ Cure bombs on my 23 Paladin in Halatali after taking just 45 points of damage.
If a Heal spell actually restores HP to the target, the Enmity Generation is tiny, almost unnoticeable (Specially in lower levels), Im not sure what the formula is for that, but looking at the evidence, its low.
Now, when a Heal spell lands on a target and does NOT restore HP due to target already having full HP, It will generate far more Enmity than usual.
This is why Medica is such an aggro bomb, its not often in a 4 player dungeon that all 4 players get to a state that requires that attention. Yet many CNJs will drop Medica if even 2 people get slightly hurt. This causes large overheals on 4 targets at once and .. Well, we know already that overhealing generates more hate than usual, and that CNJ just bombed 4 people at once with a large overheal.
Incidentally, this is also why Eos (SCH Heal pet) gets so much hate. Many SCH's force cast her heal on full/near full HP players, as well as her habit of using the AoE regen every time its up.
If you run with a healer who is constantly stealing hate from you, ask them to not throw any heals at you until you're around 50% HP ( In lower end sub 40 dungeons anyways) as they can just just about heal you back to full from there with a single cast.
I tank everything as my first option, so I'll tell you why I do tank. I love that I can get 30 myth tomes in 15 minutes, I love that I know Titan won't wipe the whole group with 1 mountain buster, I love my fc calls on me for instances and DF queues me instantly so I'm never waiting around. I love I can tank Garuda and 1 sister so I get sick dps and super fast clears. So much good comes from being a geared, knowledgable tank... Very little bad.

I'm not a natural tank, never played a tank in any MMO.
I've always played healers in MMOs, and never had any desire to play a tank. Tried MRD on a whim one day and discovered I love tanking - my PLD will be hitting 50 tomorrow. I've found a vast majority of DF groups have had great people in them; with only a couple of douches in about 180 dungeon runs so far. It's a great feeling to lead a group with new people in it through a dungeon successfully, I dig it.

I play all roles. But I'm kind of insecure so I don't tank much.
In hard content, the most difficult class is healer
you can't let yourself die, you can't let people die. try to stop healing for 2-3 seconds, that means death.
(In easy content, healer is the easiest class though.)
In farm content, the most difficult class is dd
you still have to focus to keep your dps as high as possible, & playing with skill rotation is boring.
That's why I switch to tank. after you familiar with tanking, it will gives you mid-high pressure only
Tanking is hard to learn, easy to play.

I love tanking for my static group. I hate tanking for pugs. Simple as that.
lol, udead.
Totally agree - tank is easy mode compared to healer in most boss fights. Although, I find clearing trash mobs more stressful as a tank... usually thanks to DPS being over-eager with pulls or hitting the wrong targets (even if marked).
Side note: My gf calls those over-eager DPS players ADHDDPS. lol
After you know how to play, tank is the most interesting class.
You can slap the enemy face to face,You can do whatever you want.
if you are good, your teammate will love you.
you paid a lot ,but you get everything.
1.as a dd, you can just follow & stab someone's ass, playing with the boring skill rotation forever.
2.as a healer, all you get is pressure only(dead or alive)
