Luminary Tools Bugged?

The luminary tools are lame styles compared to the Uniques.

Maybe with a level or gear increase they could give us the ability to combine the Unique and the Luminary to create a Gilded +1 version of the unique tool because there's no way in hell I'm trading my massive saw for that chinsy gold miter saw.

They could call the quest, "A Luminary Reborn"

Or they could make the Luminary items power tools. Culinarians get a flame-thrower!

Yeah it's retarded. You get the same basic table/stove/whatever as a lvl 1 tool, whereas the quest tool gives a nice fancy one.

they're exactly the same as they weer before and the new tools pretty much outshine them in every way.
But people would be all upset if they were legacy only so put them in

even if they don't look amazing they are still gold and somewhat of a prestige item

They should change Luminary tools for secondary tools. that way we could have purple secondary tools too and would be worth to do the achievement.

But secondary militia tools already have the same stats as the lv50 quest primarys, and on top of that, are meld-able.

Even in 1.0 luminary tool was not the best tool
The best tool was always crafted tool with materia in it.

I think the bigger disappointment was when they added achievements to 1.0 and those of us who were already level 50 in crafts started over with a 0 count towards the luminary's Sorta ruined any desire to get em. Then 2.0 comes and they give us some great tools just for completing the class quests a second time. Whole thing never felt right.
