Yeah I had a friend make some HQ Fire Ward Hi-Potions (+44 resistance I think and 15 sec duration) for me and I was going to run it through some HM Ifrit fights to see the results. Then move on to the melding from there, if you penta meld something (say accessories) it should be a considerable boost.

I don't think the pots will be useful for much beyond blocking the massive AoE attacks from bosses (like Titan's Earthen Fury). But hey if it helps it helps!
