Just upgraded to windows 8.1 this morning.
Launched the game, and had no audio(Even after messing) with the settings, no luck.
I'm doing a fresh reinstall of 14, to see if that works.

You're hoping for a direct response from SE support here? For the love of God, don't hold your breath.
Yes...also did a clean reinstall, and am now having the same issue.
did u make sure to check on windows itself which device u using for sound?
I managed to find a fix for it...If you hit the little sound icon in the system tray---hit the advanced tab---mess around with "default format"(Test them all out), or use restore default.
I was able to fix it by messing with several of the options under the "default format" option.
Turns out that 8.1 messes with your audio settings so beware.
I wasted a whole clean re-install of the game, just to figure this out...so future windows 8 upgraders, beware...and learn from my mistake
BtW, I also don't have much experience with win8(8.1) as I usually operate under the "Desktop" Tab/menu.
Windows 8 is by far the worst OS MS has released to date. (This is of course my opinion)
It is a conglomeration of 2 Operating Systems just thrown together, one with a touch interface and one with the standard point + click interface. I have worked in IT for over 20 years, and I can honestly say that I advise ALL fellow co-workers and any potential friends to NOT invest in this piece of garbage.
FYI, a fellow co-worker upgraded his ultrabook to 8.1 and many issues ensued thereafter. He had to rollback from the 8.1 upgrade to regain control of lost resources.
