Will we be able to re-spec our Chocobo?

Like maybe in a future expansion or patch when they add new items to buy with Grand Company seals?

I've read that to get specific class/job armor for your chocobo, you need to have it at level 10 and learn all of one specific type: Defender, Attacker or Healer. However, you only get enough SP to learn one branch. So, if i knew this from the beginning I would have selected the one I wanted, instead I already have some points in Attacker and some points in Healer.

First, is this true to get the job armor you want for you chocobo? Second, do you think our chocobo point allocation is permanent?

Yes it's true that you get the job barding by maxing a role.

My expectation is that point allocations are permanent but the chocobo stables introduced in 2.2 or 2.3 will allow us to have more than one chocobo in the stables that can be switched in and out at will. With that we should be able to eventually have one of each role (and likely different coloured chocobos too). The stables will likely see a substantial expansion to the entire chocobo system as there are several known job-based barding sets that are currently unavailable.

I doubt it'll be permanent. They'll probably introduce some item to reset points, similar to the item you can buy for 10k seals to reset your own stats.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I remember reading somewhere that you will be able to reset your chocobo's rank to respec.

It was mentioned that the devs are looking for ways to let you respec your chocobo. Most likely going to be a potion that you can buy for GC seals.

i wanted to try each class not knowing you couldnt respec or more importantly you cant level all 3 classes. rather than a respec i would prefer they just allow you to keep upgrading all the classes of the chocobo.

I hope so. Like an idiot, I accidentally miss-clicked when allocating mine's points so now I have points in the tanking tree

    Short answer: Yes

    Long answer: Yes, eventually.

Now, on the serious side, they did mention they're definitely working out a way to let us respec our Chocobos but, I don't recall any further info or update on that. Guess we'll just have to wait. My trusty steed is at level 5 at the moment, with no points spent >.>

I think they posted something this week that they will add something maybe 2.1.

While we do not have any plans of making it so all of the skills can be acquired, in the future we are planning to increase the skill point cap.

As there is a possibility that this increases the amount of stress that is placed on the server, we will be looking into this very carefully.

We understand that the remaining time left with your companion is difficult to tell, and we are currently thinking of ways to improve this.

Instead of simply increasing the experience points your companions acquire, we will be enhancing their usability and increasing the opportunities in which experience points can be acquired by making it possible to summon your companions while being queued for the Duty Finder.

As the requirement for obtaining the barding is to max out the skill points of your companion's stance, we are currently looking into a way to redistribute your points.

We'll be continuing to look at companion AI, but to give you an idea of one thing that is planned for after patch 2.1, we will be improving the AI for the defender stance.
    Didn't take his comments..... but

We just discovered the barding for companions and how you earn it, so could you please implement a way to redistribute the skill points?
