Prevent your Gil from being stolen by Hackers RMT

I assume this is what the Emergency maint is for.

I have been doing this since 1.0. and is a habit of mine (Since at one point you can view the amount of Gil on a character by examining them and I did not like that), I leave all my Gil on my retainer except for 10,000 (I find this is enough to get me around for a week or two). Withdraw only when I am low, kinda like a bank account, since I visit my retainers so often, it doesn't bother me.

I feel like this might help prevent the newest hack.

Just monitor your Gil after maint, good luck everyone.

Problem with this is, apparently people have claimed that it is affecting them in their retainers as well. So data is being manipulated on that level, it seems?

Nice suggestion, but I think in this instance it would have not worked so well.

oh dear.. I think visiting your retainer is what made this exploit/hack possible in the first place. You're bank account may be empty now

I thought it was being in proximity to a market board? Most of the people affected were at retainer bells in the general area around the market zones. Ah well, it should be getting patched up now, so knock on wood, everything should be ok.

some people said their retainers were buying stuff without their consent, some players reported they had received insufficient fund notice while they were nowhere close to market board.
