Beware raid groups that use ventrillo

I know this was very stupid of me, But i got into a Raid group the other day and said they will only let me join if i use vent.

I was sent a link to d/l it so i did (I know im dumb) it was full of viruses, spyware and everything else u can think of.

no not a specific d/l linke they sent me a google link and i d/l'd it from the number 1 result.

So im guessing either ventrillo itself is full of spyware or they just made a dummy google result page and sent it to me? eh w/e it took a couple hours but my comp.y is all clean now so w/e lol

Ugh, why use any of those when you can use roger wilco, or hold a telephone conference with multiple people using 3 way calling on their cell phones. You could also just relocate every time you get into a party. get in a car or a plane and just go to one player's house and everyone can play there and be able to talk without a third party communication program.

additionally, i got my Y2K innoculation from a hypodermic injection at work back in 1999 so i am immune to computer bugs.

Yep. I'm sure you could have just as easily found the ventrilo site on Google and went there to download it. I guess it's a nice heads up though so that people won't just click on random links.

Why didn't you dl vent from the official site? Never trust software downloaded from a 3rd party website. That was your mistake, not that of the players.

They sent you a specific link? I downloaded it from the site and have had no problems thus far.

#4 Though shalt not click links recieved through email or chat if you can easily go there yourself.

And for the love of the crystals dont ever click any link in an email claiming there is something wrong with your game account!
