At least their response is suitably swift this time. Kudos to them.

You honestly believe RMT always use willing workforce and there's no coercing? These are not even the people selling it.No. They're just as guilty as the ones pulling the strings. Sorry but joining up with an employer that has you committing crimes does not omit you from said crimes. Selling any gil helps ruin the reputation of the company you're playing the game for. It's vandalism. They're costing the company money. All rights to an mmo belong to the company running said mmo. Selling rights that they do not have is stealing. There's other ways to find work and make money. Hate to say it but we have illegals here who work under privileged and underpaid who actually contribute to society by working at job's that are meaningful (I.E. Construction.)
In your logic, children are at fault for being employed by a company using child labor.

Sorry. This isn't going to fly with me. Children are children and therefore aren't under the same scrutiny as an adult. Most of the rmt people are not coerced there's been many research and documentaries about it. In fact, many of them live in very close quarters along side many numerous people and find it rather enjoyable in that as long as they're making some money rather than no money it's better than being jobless. Again, sorry I know people who have lived in shelters due to not having enough funds. Some of these people lived in shelters most of their lives and the living conditions in these places aren't very good. None of these people would commit criminal acts to make money under any circumstances. My views on leeches are not going to change. I'm of the opinion as long as what you do hurts no one you're good. The moment your actions are hurting others is the moment you become a problem.
I apologize if that sounds harsh but it's the way I see things. Being poor or jobless is not an excuse to purposely commit acts that are hurting other people's lives and livelihood. Would you feel sorry for a man if he mugged, shot you, and left you to die all because his employer forced him to do so under stress? An extreme example but still an example.

One should also take note of the fact that the only reason this RMT business exists is because there are people willing to break the rules and buy in-game currency from 3rd parties. If people want to buy something, there is a market for it, legal or not.
Those people are just as guilty in my opinion. To me it's like drug deals. If you buy drugs from a drug dealer you're a criminal. If you sell drugs you are a criminal. If you help traffic drugs for a dealer you're a criminal.
No joke, Not kidding.. but the people who are doing this bot hack need to be shot dead. Not kidding, any hacker who hacks other peoples personal stuff for any reason except helping said person some how needs to be wiped off the face of this planet.
No worries, SE called over the priest. He blessed the servers, all evil guys should be gone!
Seems a bit strong advocating murder for anything...
...I'd support something moderately unpleasant happen to them; maybe stub their toe on a concrete step barefoot
Wow, it's amazing what can happen in such a short amount of time. This literally blew up right after I logged out last night...
This might be the one and only time I say I'm glad I have to wake up at 5am on Fridays to go to work!
So, while sitting at work, I read this entire thread. From 6am-8am is pretty slow for me, basically I just sit here and make sure my employees aren't goofing off until trucks start coming in. I never saw an "Insufficient gil" message pop up while I was playing, so I assume I am good. No one seemed to report money disappearing from their retainer, just off their person, so I'm good there too. I know SE said they will refund the affected, but I haven't heard anyone confirm they have been refunded yet and I am worried about the timetable they plan to use in doing so. I feel sorry for anyone this happened too, truly. I don't know what I would do if I had to break it to everyone in my FC that the money we have been working on SO HARD to amass for housing in December is just gone...
I'd support this too. Maybe stepping on a couple of LEGOs as well. That seems appropriate.
That said, hope they get sued or whatever equivalent of law they're liable to. As big of a loophole this was, it's still inexcusable.
