I just use the torrent and it takes 10 minutes.

SE still see this as using third party programs, and they can ban people if they find out, which they can only find out if you tell them which is what you are doing posting on here.

I know its stupid but not much we can do.

I don't think they care right now anyways they did the first month they even ban the 3 party windower but now there a few out there and lot's of bots and it the same website that made ffxi bots also and they just don't care.

I would say this is to keep subscription numbers up, if they say that the lost 1k subscribers, because they banned 1k bots with the state of the game it would be bad for the investors.

If subscriptions start to rise they will probably get alot stricter with breach of ToS

yep that my point they wont even ban any one to the Subscribers start picking up and they don't mind the lost of income from the bots. RMT in a way does help out the game by giving us items and fixing the market but right now the market is lame -.- no on make anything for low level and top of that if you trying to get a set for one color you wont get it and some sell a item for 999.999.999 it's like really -.-

and ur lack of thinking shows. doing that helps if ur carrying repair mats if ur grinding or gathering also can help if ur crafting alot and need the space

Yes they give you the torrent because the patcher requires it, they dont however give you utorrent which is the third party software and they dont want you to use.

Goes without saying, so all the more reason to add direct download servers.

They tried this with ffxi and didnt have enough throughput for the amount of users and people were getting kicked from updates which is why they chose the P2P option, because P2P is cheaper than having to add bandwidth and therefore throughput if what they have gets overwhelmed by demand

I know this :S

But if you have limited seeders due to player populace, plus the fact that when a person reaches 100% it removes them from the seeder list you have to some how supplement the other downloaders no ?

It would be less of an issue if people could continue to seed after reaching 100%.
