A Minor Suggestion for the New Raid.

As we all know, the next raid will be coming out in a month or so and people aren't very excited for it because it has lower item level drops/ lower level enemies compared to coil. So, why don't they just readjust the coil raid to be for level 80 stuff and the new raid be level 90 stuff? This way people will feel like there's an actual reason to run it and people won't think it's a waste of time. While I haven't raided yet in this game, I think it's pretty lame how they put the higher difficulty raid out before the lower level, stepping stone raid.

I for one am excited for Crystal tower and ilvl80 gear, since I like to not permanently be stuck on darklight gear for months to come on the classes that aren't my main/secondary, you only get so many coil drops a week(and with bad luck you get the same items dropped over and over every week, yes I'm looking at you turn 4 healing gear!) and myth stones are usualy reserved for gearing the main class.

Also OP maybe don't make a thread complaining about a mechanice you have yet to experience, for many people gearing up just to be able to do coil at all can be tedious atm, and having a whole raid to offer items to reach that goal will surely be apreciated by many, at least it will be a break in the tedium of running the same dungeon for tokens 10+ times each week.

And retroactively downgrade everybody's i90 gear to i80? Yeah, that'd piss off the majority of players.

Crystal tower was originally supposed to be out at release. Due to imbalances / broken aspects of the dungeon, they had to delay it till 2.1. Screwing over people who did coil by downgrading all the gear they've been accumulating for months (with a lock out per week) is not the way to go. I know if I had more than 2-3 coil drops I'd quit the game over such a thing happening.

I never said anything about nerfing everyone's gear that's been acquired. I mean have the drops be IL 80 from the dungeon after the change.

While it's true that it may have been planned to be out for release, the bottom line is it wasn't. Now that people will be stepping in that place already outgearing it, they will clear it in no time at all which will give them nothing new to experience for quite a while.

People have, at most, geared one job with lvl 90 gear; It's just not possible to have a full set for two jobs. I'd be willing to bet most people who have been running coil only have 1-3 pieces for their main and the random pieces for jobs they don't play. I know that I'm in that boat for my main (Drg) and my secondary (blm) won't be getting relic gear (AF+1 if you call it that) until I finish my drgs relic set. So that leaves my blm to rely on greeding Coil gear that I see on my drg or staying in lvl 70 gear until I finish my drgs set. Crystal tower will hopefully change that. My drg might not get much gear from there, but my blm sure as hell will.

    While I don't say with 100% certainty...

There's still a lot of people who have not yet done coil, perhaps let alone set foot in it. The major reason for this is because people want static parties, and people want specific party compositions, hence there'll be a lot of, say...melee DPS players who probably still don't have a team they are raiding with.

At least Crystal Tower will give them an opportunity to gear up to iLevel 80 while they look for a team. Also, good for gearing alts. And finally, Coil can only be completed once a week, which means iLevel 90 gear isn't very farmable to begin with. At the very least, you can still replace your current DL parts with iLevel 80 parts as you prepare for Coil. You also have the weekly 300 Mythology tomestones cap, so you can't gear to iLevel 90 as fast as you would possibly like.

I don't see it as being very wasted, as a lot of people have put it. In fact, if iLevel 80 gear proves to be sufficient enough for Turn 5 later on, I could end up keeping my Mythology tomestones for +1-ing some other Relic weapons I have.

I just hope the CT gear looks better than AK stuff.

You should still get DL (better looking than AK gear IMO) before doing Crystal Tower. Not because it's required (assuming it's not because you can do coil in DL) but because it is gear that is handed out for attendance and it shows others you are at least willing to put in some time to make their lives, yes your party members' lives, easier.
