Primal fights and you!

Alright so this post is going to be a slight rant, but I really want to hear opinions about this. Why does everyone make the Primal fights out to be so hard? Why do I see so many people complaining about the primal fights on these forums? The primal fights are some of my favorite content on the game right now and are tuned very well. I understand complaints about Titan lag, if you have high ping then yes Titan is a bit unfair. However the vast majority of people do not have insanely high ping and many just use ping as an excuse to complain about their own sub-par reaction times and inability to multitask.

On the subject of Titan I avoided fighting him for a very long time due to how everyone made him out to be some sort of Duty Finder nightmare that you should never do unless you have a free company group. Since I manned up and decided to finally fight him I have beaten him multiple times in Duty Finder with very few issues. Yes some groups cannot beat Titan, but these groups are extremely easy to spot if you know the signs. You should give these groups a 2-3 attempt maximum and leave. Be the bigger person and take the 15 minute penalty and be polite about it. You are doing everyone in the group a favor.

I also want to give a quick shout out to Garuda since I see plenty of complaints about her as well. Garuda is an extremely forgiving fight with a mediocre gear check. If you have AK gear and a basic understanding of how to play your class then you should have no issues with Garuda. Here are my current Garuda stats for anyone who might have an interest in this sort of thing.

SCH > BLM > BRD > SCH > DRG > SCH > BRD > PLD > MNK > WAR > SMN > SCH > SCH > SCH > PLD > WHM > WHM > WHM > SCH > SCH > SCH > SMN > BLM > BRD > WHM > WHM > BRD + Feather > BRD > SMN > DRG > SMN > WHM + Feather > WHM > SCH > WHM > WAR > SCH > WAR > SMN

That is 39 kills total and I have failed Garuda a total of 10 times. I strictly use Duty Finder for Garuda so I get an average 80% kill rate on her using Duty Finder.

So I know this is the part everyone is going to hate. If you read this far then I appreciate it though! If you are finding yourself getting worse results then I am on these Primal fights then you probably need to sit back and evaluate if you are holding the group back. Despite popular belief all it takes is that one special snowflake to turn a kill in to a giant headache. You might very well be that Snowflake.



EDIT: I have done the Primal fights on PLD/MNK/BLM/WHM, I understand that what role you choose can affect Primal difficulty and I enjoy playing all 4 roles to keep things fresh and get new weapons.

The fights for me are easy. The fights for you are easy. The fights for someone else might not be. Is it really that hard to believe and why do you have a problem with them if they do? Sorry not everyone is as good as you are.

I honestly don't see many people complain at all about the primals. Mostly Titan, but can't be because of lag or server delay. Nope, its cause people are dumb and slow right?
That is just ridiculous. I'm sorry. I do believe there are people who don't try hard enough and just want to be carried, but there are other people who do legitimately have problems. You shouldn't group them all together.

I'm up to Titan on my Relic quest and I'll admit...I'm kind of avoiding it. Yea, I'm a little nervous I'm going to mess it up.

I think Garuda is really easy though...And you're right about how one person can mess it up. The one time I didn't beat Garuda...we would have made it if the other healer had thrown out a Medica 2 just once...even a Medica would have sufficed :P

No offense to OP, but tanking the primal fights is a bit of a different story than healing or being DD. My main is WHM but I just recently leveled my PLD to 50. I went and started tanking primals and it was stupidly easy. I'm not saying you don't need skill, but the only time I've seen a tank go down in a primal fight is when my other healer or myself has screwed up.

Yeah tanking and doing anything else basically are a world of difference. Tanking titan is the easiest thing, just stand around and pop cooldowns. Healing garuda and titan well...

Primal fights are easy once you know how to do them. Especially Titan. It's hard because it requires the whole group to know what they're doing as well. Once you get it down, you have to rely on 7 others also getting it down and knowing what to do.

I have PLD/MNK/BLM/WHM at level 50 and have done the Primal fights on them all due to wanting the weapons for multiple classes. I am currently 6/9 on the Garuda weapons for example. Sad to see that people rather insult me for having a tank class leveled then to contribute meaningful discussion.
