ffxiv ps4

One thing i wanna know is i own both the PC and PS3 version.

But what it sounds like is u get to upgrade to PS4 for free which would mean my account would than have the ability to log into FFXIV from either a PC or a PS4 I would no longer be able to log into FFXIV using a PS3?

I don't ever (well I do but like maybe .5% of the time) play on my PS3, but I still want the option in case i am somewhere where there is only a PS3 in the future for my account to still be able to log into all available mediums. So even if i own the PS3 version and I have the ability to upgrade for free if I still want to have the ability to log in through the PS3 I will have to not take the free upgrade and go buy the PS4 version?

A little clarification on that would be very helpful. I don't care which way it goes I would just like to know for sure.

Also if you upgrade to the PS4 version, you can't play the PS3 version. Figure I put this out there.

Please bear in mind that FFXIV:ARR on the PS4 won't be avaliable until the PS4 Beta period in February>March.
