i can see anything different between a and c.
A- Set to All
Up/Down targets party members
Left/Right targets all targets
(With a controller you can Push the Auto-Run button + EmoteList for 'ALL', Main Menu for 'Friendly', Cancel for 'Party', Confirm for 'Enemy')
C-
Always set to ALL and can't be changed like A can for controller users

FTW
from what I've tested, with a keyboard
it's seem like they messed up the A mode, something might went wrong
I want a D Mode which only target enemies
Kindred - www.kindredlinkshell.com • My XIVPad - http://www.xivpads.com/?profile/1592...onsong/balmung
I want it to be locked for enemies only because so many times I accidentally hit UP and DOWN keys
unless they let me reassign these key to another button like PgUp and PgDown
I thought thats what the targeting modes did prior to the patch?

Pretty much, the new thing was adding /tmode C
People were having issues on /tmode A where it would change to "enemy" or "party" unexpectedly and screw them up. Then they'd have to type the /tmode commands to change & then change back. When all they wanted was to keep it set to "All".http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...1.17a-Not-Good
Also this was added:
With this if you like to have it set to "Enemy" with /tmode A or B you can use "/dtar on" to allow you to target a non-enemy that's right in front of you(The camp battlewarden perhaps) without having to change your targeting setup.A new text command has been added which allows players to specify targeting behavior when pressing confirm without a target selected.
/directtarget (/dtar) [subcommand]
>>Subcommands
on Toggle direct targeting on.
(Overrides active targeting mode to render all characters selectable.)
off Toggle direct targeting off.
(Determines selectable targets based on current targeting mode.)
Toggle between on and off when no subcommand is specified.
* The default setting is off.
