    Yes I am paying them to have a service provided and apparently having even a small notice telling my why its unavailable is what, too difficult for them to provide?
    Were talking about SE here, let's pretend like they have ever had good a customer first attitude, because they haven't.

    SE's customer service was notably worse during the FFXI years and that game still did pretty well. Bad customer service is a given with SE, not that bad customer service has anything to do with scheduling emergency maintenances without providing explicit details. What exactly are you going to do with such information?

    I'm saying this as someone who can apparently read a License Agreement...not as an elitist. Calm down.

    It states at the very top:
    The following License Agreement is a binding, legal agreement between SQUARE ENIX® and you and governs your use of the Licensed Software. If at any time you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, you must immediately cease using the Licensed Software.


    You do not agree with their terms, so you can leave at any point. By continuing to subscribe to this game, you are telling Square-Enix that you agree to everything listed on that page. Yes, they could do things differently, but they won't, so stop expecting them to.

    I know what it says too. My point being is that they already go beyond that by making any contact with us at all. Sometimes they do give bits of information about maintenance, or address issues raised on here.

    Just because someone doesn't have to do something, it doesn't mean they won't. And despite what you and the other excitable people are saying, there really is no harm in asking.

    While I do think they could potentially handle some of this better, I don't honestly think people are defending SE blindly. Had this thread been "could we get some information about why there are so many maintenances?" rather than "just stop already", the reactions would be fairly different. You would still get some, but it would be a lot more positive and get more support.

    Most people would happily support more information. SE doesn't have to give it, but it doesn't hurt to ask. But the pure vent threads are always going to draw reactionary "get over it" type responses.

    There are many valid reasons for needing to do this much maintenance, some of them require silence ahead of time. (Exploit related, economy breaking, etc). That said SE has been fairly quiet across the board even after the fact, so I don't think it would hurt to ask so long as it is politely. Pure complaints about it however, or attempts to tell SE all the many ways they are doing it wrong (without the information needed to know if they are doing it wrong), are definitely going to just become a series of sarcastic replies and meaningless back and forth.

    There are many things SE could do better, I don't think many will argue with that. But presentation and wording matter greatly to how well any complaint, issue, or general request for information will be received both by SE, and by other posters.
