SE's customer service was notably worse during the FFXI years and that game still did pretty well. Bad customer service is a given with SE, not that bad customer service has anything to do with scheduling emergency maintenances without providing explicit details. What exactly are you going to do with such information?

Bad customers, SE is lucky people even came back to this after it was a massive fail once, what other mmo was literally shut DOWN over it being SO TERRIBLE?
They reopened the game with problem after problem after problem, no endgame, and is still a premium to play? so just because im complaining makes me a bad customer.

The difference I see is that if they provided details, we'd have threads whining about the specific reason why there's maintenance instead of the fact that there's no reason given.

I'm not white knighting. On the last page I said that SE has always had terrible CS. I don't have to be defending SE to point out when people are being unreasonable.

Moreover, I have yet to encounter an instance where maintenance has prevented me from playing. So in this subjective observation about "too frequent" I disagree.

There is a large area between four maintenance's a week and nothing at all.

No, I'd rather them not do nothing at all. I'd also rather them shoot for one scheduled maintenance a week like every other successful MMO.
